Cruiser7 Posted May 13, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2005 Going with a group to Bermuda on Cruise, a few in the party are interested in the Turtle Bay Excursion. The NCL description says "you can kick around with the crew's snorkel gear" but than has a note below the description that says "beach site with limited snorkeling, which may be unavailable". How is the snorkeling at Turtle Bay?
Imagolfnut Posted May 14, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2005 We did Turtle Bay last year - the snorkeling wasn't that great! There were lots of fish around some rocks, but no coral. Maybe on the other side of the rocks was better, but I was a little chicken to swim over there. I would guess that if the tide is out or the water is rough, you couldn't snorkel around those rocks. There was another area that they said was better, but I couldn't get to it. They just gave us "noodles" not the typical snorkel vest, and I couldn't navigate the current or waves with a noodle. For snorkeling, I'd say it's a bust. But, the beach area was nice, and the catamaran sail was good. Hope this helps.
Jeanne S Posted May 16, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2005 Go on Rising Sun for the Private Island - one of the most pristine beatiful beaches. We mostly had it to oursevles while most when snorkleing.
