benzamg Posted August 2, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2012 I just tried to book dinner reservations @ Jacques and was told there were no tables for two between 7:30pm-9:00 pm for all dates on the Iberian Odyssey September 14th-23rd.We were offered a shared table which is unacceptable .Is this the norm? Not a great first impression for first time cruisers on their honeymoon. There is no "normal" for specialty restaurant reservations, sometimes Red Ginger is the hot ticket, sometimes Jacques is in favor, although I suspect that where the ship is in the World, has some effect on which cuisine is most popular. That said, the restaurants don't release EVERY table into the Online Pool, so if you can be flexible, you may be able to make a reservation at Jacques once you are on the ship. Also, many of those who have already booked tables in the restaurants several months ahead "just because they can" will need to amend them because of other onboard plans, so there can be a great deal of wiggle room if you interact with the main reservation desk in the embarkation lobby. Congratulations, and have a wonderful honeymoon!
