Does the islands get cooler in early Jan (70's)I have read where the "cruising" can be rough this time of year.... :) Thanks everyone!

January is when we always go, and have been both directions. The air temp has always been quite warm, very little rain, but have found the water to be chilly. Not bad once you get in, but it gets your blood flowing in the process! You can run into rough weather no matter where you are or what time of year you go. Only had one rough day this year coming back through the Bahamas which is not uncommon at all, and certainly was not as bad as some of the ships have been experiencing in the past month or so. We have found the seas to be pretty calm this time of year in our experience. Any time on a cruise can't be all bad!:D Hope this helps...

Hi,

We have been both East and West. We are booked on the western rout on the Miracle Jan 1/06. I have never thought about the warmth of the water, only, the ports.

My husband and son are divers and like the west best. My daughter and I are always happy anywhere we go.

If you have kids 13-15 and decide on the western rout, let us know.

I think any cruise is great!!

Hi,

My kids are the same, I wanted to book a land based holiday and both kids weren't happy. I think cruising is the way to go with teens.

I'm sure, your husband will love diving. I'm not into it, but seeing how happy my husband is after diving is great.
