canuckgal Posted August 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2012 Travelling with 13 yr old daughter, so she won't be able to go into a bar if we get the munchies late at night. What are our options (other than room service?) Thanks!
Lubbock2006 Posted August 6, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2012 You will love the Blue Lagoon. We always plan on late meals there and I don't recall seeing adult beverages ever. We like the fish and chips.
kylenyc Posted August 6, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 6, 2012 The Blue Lagoon is open 24 hrs and serves very good finger foods. It's not a bar per se and I've seen teens there. Also, there's a poolside buffet they open after dinner and serve a limited selection of snacks... deserts, fruit, burgers, fries, teriyaki wings and such (nothing fancy). I always make a run to the Garden Cafe after dinner and bring back some dessert or fruit for the cabin in case I get hit with the late night munchies. yoyocruiser Posted August 6, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 6, 2012 On the Sky there is no Blue Lagoon. The late night venue is Longboards --wonderful wings and the same type of menu as Blue Lagoon. However it is a bar. That said you can certainly take children in and sit at a table. There were families eating there. It is unclear however if OP perhaps does not want young teen in that environment. However i would also point out that alcohol is served in all the restaurants as well as all over the ship. But i do understand the difference in taking a child into a venue that seems more like a bar than a restaurant. But there is always room service and take out. As a mom i would just check it out and see. It may be quite family friendly but it also could be full of drinking adults who have left the casino etc. I never felt there was nowhere to go with my kids to have food --at any time!! canuckgal Posted August 6, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted August 6, 2012 thank you- i knew there was no blue lagoon, so i was just wondering what the equivalent was. we will check out longboards- i'm not worried about what she will "be exposed to" if i bring her in-just wondering if it was allowed. The wings at Longboards are awesome! We didn't go very late at night but the couple of times we did go in, maybe around 10 PM, it wasn't very crowded and the people who were there were not rowdy at all. And this was during spring break! I'd think it'll be fine for your daughter but it probably varies between sailings and how late you're going there.
