well drink

A well drink would be the opposite of a call drink. Example: to order a scotch and water at the bar would be a well drink. To order a Johnny Walker (scotch) and water would be a call drink. Well drinks use bar brand liquors. Call drinks use top shelf stuff.

Most NCL ships I have been on do not have "well" drinks...and the liquors being served are all good brands....of course, I haven't been on all of the ships....yet.....;)

jus' me.....jim.....

On the Dawn, I ordered a vodka tonic with the "house" vodka - I guess what you might call a "well" drink, and the vodka was Gordon's, I believe. Quite a respectable brand, and even with the 15% was only $6.95.

Hi

I have been having a look at a few POA "dailies" & they mention well drinks.

Can someone please let me know what a well drink is?

I am guessing at $3.95 a pop it isnt water :D

thanks

Julie

If you drink too many of them you don't feel well in the morning. :D

And don't plan on finding too many $3.95 drinks...... well or not.

One way to tell the difference between the two is that the "well" drinks come from the rack in front and below the bar tender that is called a "well". A "call" drink is one that you say the name or "call" the brand of the booze you want.

That, of course, is a rumor as I spend little time in bars . You may ask what their well liquors are and if it's acceptable to you, order them a save a few bucks. As a PP mentioned, they don't serve the mega cheap s*** that you may find in some local bars.
