remharri Posted August 6, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2012 We are doing the Trike tour in Aruba this coming November and they said they would be able to drop us off at Eagle Beach. He mentioned there was a bus that will drop you off right in front of the cruise ships. Does anyone have any more details on this they could offer? Or is it best to take a cab? And if so, whats the cost of a cab ride in Aruba?
OKCruiseMan Posted August 6, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2012 Don't know the answer to your question, but here is nice webcam on Eagle Beach. Nice place to be dropped off!
Arubalisa Posted August 6, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) The public bus stops in front of the Amsterdam Manor Resort on Eagle Beach. It will take you to the bus station in downtown Oranjestad which is a two block walk to the cruise terminal. Taxis, by law, can carry a maximum of five people. A taxi from Eagle beach to the cruise terminal will cost $10 each way. A taxi from Palm beach to the cruise terminal will cost $11 each way. There is a $3 surcharge on Sundays and holidays. Public Bus There are quite a few Aruba cams Here are the Amsterdam Manor's http://wedding.stardotcams.com/index.html?size=1&mode=0 http://ambrcam.stardotcams.com/ Edited August 6, 2012 by Arubalisa

Arubalisa Posted August 8, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 8, 2012 :) Fares are per "cab full" :) but by law can only carry a maximum of 5 people. Say you have a family of 8 people, then you would need two taxis. Any fare you see listed, whether for transportation to a site, or a beach or an hourly fee, are all per ride. There is never (or at least there should not be!) a charge "per person". If you take a private taxi tour for 3 hours and have 4 people, it would breakdown to $33.75 per person ($45 x 3 hours divided by 4 people) plus gratuity. pattycake08 Posted August 30, 2012 #6 Share Posted August 30, 2012 We just got back from Eagle beach last week. The rental was $25.00 it was for 2 lounge chairs under a Palpaya tree. There is no negotiating, tried but it was $25.00 or nothing, it was worth the $25.00, beach and water was beautiful. We took the bus across the street from the cruise ship to get to Eagles Beach it is the L10, costs was $2.30 round trip per person to get to the beach. pattycake08 Posted August 31, 2012 #8 Share Posted August 31, 2012 The bus will let you off right in front of the Marriott, you cross the street and its right there, maybe 50-100 yards. There will be all those little palypa trees already set up with lounge chairs under them, a man will then come up to you & tell you its $25.00, no negotiating, I tried. The bus will then come back on its route and if it sees passengers waiting will stop. I would say the bus is a little inconsistent coming back, it generally runs every 30 minutes. We then went back to the ship showered & changed, & took the bus again, right past Eagle Beach & had a beautiful sun lit dinner on the beach at Passions, it was spectacular. Hatteras51 Posted September 1, 2012 #9 Share Posted September 1, 2012 (edited) Glad that you enjoyed your day in Aruba. We love it so much that we vacation there every year. The Marriott is in Palm Beach. Amsterdam Manor, which is where Passions is located, is in Eagle Beach. Are you sure they let you off at the Marriott?
