Just got off The Liberty this morning(I am now at FLL waiting for my flight, I wanted to comment on FTTF. After the initial line to get into the building checking in was a breeze, I think it took all of 15 minutes ( if that) between checking in and getting on the ship, we headed right to our cabin to drop off carry ons and the had a quick lunch, when I got back to my cabin our luggage was waiting, we had not even been on an hour.

The regular check in line was looooonnnnnnggggggg. No problem at guest services either, only once did I have to wait behind someone, overall I would do FTTF again.

Very happy to hear about this! We bought the FTTF for our upcoming Liberty cruise and I am hoping we will have the same experience. :D

What time did you arrive at the port?

I bought it for our upcoming cruise as well. On our last cruise out of Tampa on the Legend we lucked out and a port worker (I didn't pay much attention as to what his title was) directed us to the VIP line and when I told him we weren't VIP, he told us to just go ahead. So we bypassed the huge line out around the building and waited in line for about 5 minutes to check in. Don't know what we did to deserve that but it was awesome. After experiencing that, I hope we get the opportunity to pay for the FTTF pass every cruise we go on. We weren't given any preferential treatment other than getting to check in faster - after that we were with the general crowd but I'm sure it saved us a lot of time.

Wasn't the VIP Line outside?? did you really have to wait in the long line of people? According to the list of perks, you get to go through the same line as the VIPs. Which means you go to the front of the line outside, there is a separate entrance for VIPS... at least there was last year ???

I'm glad to see that it worked out well for you. I agree that it's certainly a good deal!

As to whether or not it takes something away (from those who earned rather than purchased) them - that has yet to be determined. This is a new program, and will most certainly be modified.

As I said before, I hope that Carnival plays their cards right!

Tom

I hope you are right Tom. I am one of those "almost Milestone" that did not get grandfathered and have no chance to get grandfathered to Diamond. 24 cruise next week.... did have 25 booked ... but cancelled, I will still book another but only booked that one to get the Diamond status I was told I would get. Oh well....

Personally, I think the perk of going straight to your cabin is one of the best ones... like to get rid of that carryon.... It would have been even better if I still had a man in my life....... and I also think this should have been a Platinum perk all along... not just adding it because others get it and it would not have gone over very well with Platinum and Milestone, excuse me..I mean Diamond cruisers.... after all , Milestone is not a level... right:rolleyes:

THANK YOU so much for the feedback!! We are on the Liberty next Saturday and we bought the ftf pass too so I was waiting to hear feedback! We are traveling with our two kids and it is our first vacation in forever so it seemed worth it to me.

Any other thoughts or info on your trip? Did you have any rough waters? :)

Weather was great only one night it seemed a little rocky but not too bad, we made every port( did Western) had some rain showers but that was when we were at sea, I loved this ship may want to do this one again, I must say the steakhouse was awesome.

Food was great(Guys Burgers is a must) ports were great, my granddaughter hung out at o2 and had a ball, my only negatives are, I did not win in the casino, lol and they did not enforce the diapered babies in the pool( I just used the other pool no biggie to me.)

I must have missed the sign.

Thanks! We are doing Western too - no idea what we are doing in most of the ports (Cozumel we are doing Paradise Beach). The diaper thing may freak me out a bit! We are SO excited to get there, but I was nervous about the rougher waters. Thanks again for the feedback!

I don't remember where the sign was... had been told to go to the front and that was where the vip line was... so we did... Don't forget that the next time... it saves lots of time.... and beats standing in that line outside the terminal...:)

Thanx for the info:)

The best purchase for our Liberty cruise were our FTTF passes for our 2 cabins. We avoided several HUGE lines by having these passes. Carnival always made sure we had a pass for each cabin. Our cabin keys were already made when we got to the port and had special stickers on them and were always checked when we used them for whatever reason.

I know many diamond and platinum members are annoyed by the sale of these passes but we never came across any diamond or platinum members on the lines we entered. We were usually the only people on the line.

I did ask guest services about the sale of these passes and she told me that they would only sell them on cruises that that did not have a lot of platimum members so that they would never be impacted. She said it would be impossible to sell these passes on all cruises.

I booked it for my cruise in two weeks :)

How do they prevent other passengers from going to their rooms early?

We got to our rooms between 11 and 11:30. Many rooms before and after ours still had the doors opened and were being cleaned. The room steward seemed to know that we were FTTF pass holders and our rooms were already done. I'm sure many people will be able to get to their rooms, but their rooms may not be ready.

Have a great cruise!!!! :)

MIZZ_K & the others who did the FTTF - How were you identified as a FTTF person? I'm asking specifically about tendering. I don't want to get mad at the FTTF people who get the priority tendering with the Platinum/Milestoners. TIA
