Bobgsfo Posted August 8, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2012 I think RSVP does a great job with their cruises. I look forward to the new itinerary for 2/13. Bob:)
JonV Posted August 13, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2012 The Mardi Gras cruise I was looking forward to has been changed to Carnival in Curaco, Aruba and the private island. Same trip we did a couple years ago. I am bit bummed about not seeing New Orleans but I really did enjoy this trip a few years ago and am looking forward to it. EdmPair Posted August 13, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2012 Their web pages have not updated to that change. Not seriously thinking of going but fun to see the photos. ;-)
chicagocoy Posted August 14, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 14, 2012 We are going this year. We were looking forward to Key West and Mardi Gras in New Orleans too but elected to stay and try out the new itinerary. Any recommendations for Aruba or Curaçao? BayAreaBC Posted August 14, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 14, 2012 Supposedly scuba and snorkeling is better in Curacao than Aruba. Since snorkeling is supposedly good at Half Moon Cay also I'll probably pursue water sports in Curacao and HMC and perhaps shop and do a sunset catamaran open bar tour in Aruba. Boytjie Posted August 14, 2012 #6 Share Posted August 14, 2012 Supposedly scuba and snorkeling is better in Curacao than Aruba. Since snorkeling is supposedly good at Half Moon Cay also I'll probably pursue water sports in Curacao and HMC and perhaps shop and do a sunset catamaran open bar tour in Aruba. I did scuba excursions on the RSVP cruise in 20120 at both and I did not see huge difference. In Curacao we did it on our own with Dive Bus - the dive was from shore. I will dive with them next February for sure. Since my usual RSVP scuba buddy will most likely not go on the cruise I may skip scuba in Aruba and do an excursion with my partner for a change! I have never done snorkeling at Half Moon Cay and I have not read anything to tell me that there is good snorkeling there. The beach is so beautiful that I enjoy just hanging out and relaxing after a couple of days of hectic RSVP cruise-life!
Boytjie Posted August 14, 2012 #7 Share Posted August 14, 2012 For those posting here and going on the cruise, have you checked out our roll call? RSVP Feb 9-16, 2013 - Eurodam Discussing excursion options and getting questions answered there could be helpful to many others going.
BayAreaBC Posted August 14, 2012 #8 Share Posted August 14, 2012 If you read the reviews and posts about HMC the snorkeling along the wall at HMC is supposedly very good. I'm sure it doesn't compare to reef snorkeling at Curacao though.
