It is the same pier that Carnival uses.... NOT the one closest to downtown. We were there a couple of weeks ago... took a taxi downtown and it was $6. each way for two of us.

Just got back from the CB, we were at the Puerta Maya Pier.;)

The Star docked at Puerta Maya last month. It is the same one that Carnival uses and the furthest from the town center. However there is a great little shopping village at the end of the pier with many shops. The pier itself is quite long but they have little bicycle shuttles (for two) that you can get back and forth. They operate on tips only. It felt good after walking all over the shopping area to get a ride back to the ship.

We were on Caribbean Princess in September and we docked downtown. Just walk off the peir and your there. Not sure if this is the normal peir for Caribbean Princess as our itinerary was changed due to Hurricane Jeanne.
