welove2cruise* Posted August 13, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2012 I thought I read a thread at some point that indicated that the Waikiki Thrifty rental car office at 2002 Kalakaua Avenue will send a shuttle to pick you up from the cruise ship pier. Can anyone who has been recently confirm that? I can call them as well, but thought maybe someone here might know. I am hoping that cruise luggage on the shuttle wouldn't be an issue either. Thanks
Middleager Posted August 13, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2012 The Thrifty airport location does pickup/dropff at the cruise pier. Don't know about their Waikiki location. If you call and find out, please let us know.
welove2cruise* Posted August 13, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted August 13, 2012 I just called them and she said they do pick up there. That is good news. I was planning to take a taxi to the car rental and now we won't need to do that. :)
CRUZBUDS Posted August 13, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2012 On one of our cruises we had Thrifty airport location. The van came and a woman and her poor husband got on with us. She initially refused to get off the van when told it didn't got to Waikiki only the airport. I took a while to get her off, the husband was very embarrassed. She was a real piece of work

She wouldn't move when told she should go to her seat at the economy -- until I told her the business class isn't going to Honolulu, only the economy class does.
