dr dreamer Posted August 13, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2012 Due to my business I may need to use the laptop while on the cruise. Is there a way to use a lap top on a cruise? Do they have Wifi available? How costly? Any feedbank will be helpful Thanks
tahqa Posted August 13, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2012 After the last dry-dock WiFi should now be generally accessible. However, it is not cheap. Figure $.65/minute. The bigger the package you buy they cheaper it is per minute but it still never gets THAT cheap. Also, if you're a C&A member your coupon book will have coupons for internet. If you can batch up your required communications you might be able to get cheaper connections through an internet cafe whilst in port.
FLACRUISER99 Posted August 13, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2012 Let me add buy your package the first day, you usually get free bonus minutes. Also the Internet onboard the ship is super slooooooooow:eek: almost as fast as dial-up. See this page http://www.royalcaribbean.com/beforeyouboard/whatToKnow/topTenFAQs/detail.do?pagename=top_10_faqs&pnav=4&snav=2&faqId=310&faqSubjectName=Top+10+FAQ&
stephanie1 Posted August 13, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2012 We had a laptop on the liberty in 2010. Hopefully service has improved. If you have to use your laptop try to use it during port days. Less congestion online. Only so many can be on the line at once & my friend was thrown offline a few times, we were on deck 10, maybe service was better elsewhere. I was told that people using the ship computers had better service. Best to get the package 65 cents minute gets costly & use coupons if you are c&a. I am going back on liberty in november with my tablet & hoping its ok
Clarea Posted August 13, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 13, 2012 Better yet, use the WiFi in port. Much faster and cheaper. Ask crewmembers (waiter, room steward) if there are any free WiFi places in port.
