I have pics of children area and info. Last night while in jacusis the kids camp ventured into h2O pirate hunting. They seemed to be having a blast. They captured a blast and keep on going throughout the ship doing other activities.

My comparison from the Allure and this one? I think it will surprise most. :D.

Catching the bus to horseshoe in a few.

LOL! I think you enjoyed the Breakaway more. :D

Noob question: If you take advantage of this $25/$50 casino promotion, are there restrictions on cashing out? Any reason I couldn't play $25 and, after losing it, cash out the remaining $25? Or even just cash out the $50?

Also, can onboard credit be used for casino chips? Looked on the NCL site and failed to find anything.

Yes, there are restrictions. You must play the $50, but any winnings, you can cash out. Also, you get the $50 put onto your CAS card. You then select an amount to play in a machine. Once you do, you must play that amount in that machine. If you win, you can cash out and use the card to apply more $$. It isn't really too complicated...just sounds that way.

i can't stand the suspense!!

Testing my totally non-psychic abilities...my guess is that gambee will end up preferring the Breakaway over the Allure. Unless he prefers the Allure over the Breakaway. :D

There are (4) handicapped-accessible Family Oceanview cabins on deck 5 that allow quad occupancy: 5138, 5140, 5738, 5740

Those were the only quads I've ever been quoted for HC on the Breakaway. Unfortunately this is almost universal with HC cabins on all lines. Royal seems to be the exception, they do have HC quads on most of their ships but none usually in suites. When creating occupancy restrictions most lines have some type of sq ft requirement for cabins designed for wheelchairs and the formula includes the number of people in the cabin. We've run into this for well over 25 years.

Haven't done Breakaway myself yet and won't until September. I have done the big 3 though of Epic, Allure, and Oasis. Of those 3 our personal favorite was Epic. I would expect Breakaway to be even better yet. For me the NCL freestyle beats Royal in lots of ways! ;)

I'm glad to hear it! We've only cruised CCL and NCL and prefer NCL. We have friends who don't want to consider NCL because they love Royal.

I thought i was the only one to feel that way! I did Freedom of the Seas one month right after Epic. Freedom was a pretty ship. But Epics entertainment was far better. Im not talking about just the shows either. Night time there wasnt hardly anything to do outside of watching a movie in 3 different places.Yea the character parade was ok, and the ice show was great, the royal promade was ok, but after day 2, now what am i suppose to do. Hell i love Michael Kors my preferred (bag)designer however, I wasnt trying to drop a couple hundred on a bag on that trip. NOW If they had a Coach Outlet Store or a DSW (shoe store) in the Promanade (mall) then you saying something but after 6pm its a wrap. NCL had many different options at the same time which makes it hard to chose what to do at night. RCCL not so much.

Some folks think Royal is so much better than NCL, but for me they are not, I would not rank them over Princess actually. Give me a choice between a free NCL(breakaway, Epic) cruise and a Free Royal Carib (Allure, Oasis)cruise. I 'm going to pick NCL.

I guess that is why there are choices:D You have to pick the cruise line that is right for you. #IMHO

I agree with you Tiffy...to me NCL offers more choices at more varied times. At least for you and me we have experiences on both and can make decisions going forward based on those. I have found that many of the people that are Royal loyalists and somewhat put down NCL have never even given NCL a try. One thing to me that is sort of an "intangible" is that I feel that the people I cruise with on Norwegian (both passengers and crew) are having far more fun and have a lot less "attitude" than those on Royal.

Long Live NCL Freestyle! :D

I love NCL & Freestyle, but Royal's Ships & cabins BLOW AWAY NCL IMHO....On the Liberty last Nov. I had a standard balcony cabin that was 200 SF w/ a 68 SF balcony vs. 172 & 32 on the Breakaway- HUGE difference..on the Allure, we had a D5 ( middle of the pack) balcony that was 182 SF & 53 SF balcony., and people have complained...look at the difference in Mini-Suites ( called Junior Suites on RCI) : Freedom class- 317 SF & 101 balcony SF for a STANDARD Junior Suite vs. like 234 SF & 35 for balcony on Breakaway..Oasis class 287 & 80 SF, not bad still....plus we LOVE the Royal Promenade and the amazzzing water show in the Aqua Park, and the ice-skating shows are terrific, and Central Park on Oasis is magnificent, especially at night....I'm in the cruise business, so I've been on ALL mainstream lines but Costa..we are silver on NCI, Diamond on Royal, red on CCL,etc...RCI is a bit more $$, but look at the difference in the ships and what they offer..we are looking to sail the Getaway in 2014, but these tiny balconies are making me have to spend more $$ just to be able to have breakfast out there, one of our favs to do...Variety is the spice of life..you don't go to only one food chain or one hotel chain, do you?? Again, just my HO...

Big Al

You too!! OMG!! I saw this toooo much. After day 5, I thought I was going to end up the brig...In my experice the 'vibe' on NCL ships great. Some folks think that the staff dancing coming back to ship is tacky, while enjoy that. While other pax from the 'other' lines will  and call it cheezy. Call me cheezy! :D Im the type of person will dance with them so I love it. Its just fun. I think most people I meet on my cruises with NCL are like me...crazy as hayle at times and knows how let go, laugh a lot, and have a good time while on vacation:D

If you were bored on the Oasis ships, you should see a Neurologist, IMHO..LOL...I thought the Epic was OK, but too much like a 24 hour Vegas hotel..that cabin & bathroom situation was horrible..FOS & Oasis much prettier & classier IMO..preferred the MDR on Royal, preferred $$ on NCL, though 150 Park was phenomenal on Oasis..Again the Water diving show blows anything away I've ever seen at sea ( 28 cruises, 29th on Disney Dream in Nov)..Hairspray was the best show we've ever seen with Saturday Night Fever on the Liberty a close 2nd..the adult Solarium pool area is terrific with the canti-levered infinity hot tubs sticking out over the Caribbean- wow, what a view...I love NCL, but the biggest knocks against NCL are the smaller cabins ( that is true for sure), MDR food VERY mediocre ( many have told me), and some service issues...strengths are $$ venues very good, entertainment usually good, bars & lounges good, Garden Cafe on most ships good ( why not on the Breakaway? Big mistake IMO..)...we've been on the Sky twice, Pearl, Sun, Epic and Star, and loved all of them..I thought the Freedom, Liberty, Oasis & Allure of the Seas were a step above all of them, but they are also more $$, and their ports of call are pretty boring ( NCL's are similar unfortunetly with the East & West Caribb itineraries)...BTW, I was told I'd hate NCL when we tried the Sun in 2001 by all...I looked for all the problems I heard about: service, bad food, ships were old & tired,etc...nothing could've been further from the truth...we LOVED the Sun! It was our first Freestyle cruise ( 1st NCL ship BUILT for Freestyle)...and that's one reason we are looking forward to cruising the Getaway from here in South Florida...

Here's to hoping that since those currently on the cruise will be back Sunday and Monday is a holiday (here in the U.S.) that they will all have time to write their reviews! :p I'm sure Gambee's review is going to be a fun read!
