Club O2 ~ 3 Teenage girls ~ 1 just turned 18

For our upcoming Splendor cruise, which is actually a cruise for our daughter's high school graduation, we will have 3 teenage girls. My two daughters, ages 16 and just turned 18 right before the cruise and her friend who is 17.

Does anyone know if my newly turned 18 year old, senior in high school, will be able to go into the O2 club with her 17 year old friend? I would much rather her do that then to be trying to hang out in the night club!!!!!

There are several posts on this topic in the family board. It should not be allowed but some have posted that sometimes it is. The teen club max age is 17. At 18 they are legally adults fo rmany reasons. If it was an 18 year old boy, would you want him in a teen club with your 14 year old?

An 18 year old, regardless of their sex, would NOT be in the same CCL camp as a 14 year old. And I would have no problem with an 18 year old boy being in the camp with my 16 year old daughter, as that is an every day occurrence in high school :)

While I completely understand... and would probably feel different in your shoes..

My vote as the parent of a younger teen would be that she not be allowed.

Mainly because 18 is legal to drink in many of the ports and there have been reported issues of 18 year olds coming back drunk and socializing with the younger kids.

Now.. ofcourse that does not imply your daughter would drink... but that is why the Carnival rules are in place.. to seperate the kids from the adults. ( technically )

Would be a different story if she turned 18 ON the cruise I think..

Search the threads.. there are many on this..

Good luck !

She will have just turned 18.... days before the cruise and unfortunately her best friend travelling with us, as part of her graduation present, will still be 17. Thus, I am hoping that the slight age difference will not spoil their graduation trip because they won't be able to participate in the same activities..... :(

The O2 Club minimum age is 15, max 17 so the 14 year old would never be in this situation.

I am curious about the restrictions as well as I have a 14 year old daughter and a 16 year old daughter and technically they would be in different clubs but I want them together. I certainly don't want any 18 years olds in the O2 club, especially after reading about the Carnival Rape crime recently.

I have read on here that if she is still in high school, they will let her in the club. Make sure to bring her school ID. I do not see the club being filled up since you are not cruising during the summer or during a holiday.

You can let this one go. It will work out just fine. :)

So you want the rules bent for you, but not someone else? What about the other teens who don't want a 14 year old in their club? If the 18 year old is still in HS (with ID), it should be ok... They may have to give up their "adult" privaleges (casino, disco, adult comedy)...

14/15, same same for this scenario.

There are also 19 year olds still in high school, you still think it's okay? Due to red shirting most likely there will be 20 year olds in high school soon. Most states a 17 year old and 18 year old dating, if the relationship became intimate (or accusation), the 18 year old can be charged with statutory rape and listed as a sexual offender.

We returned from our cruise in July with two 18 year old boys and a 15 year old girl (all in our party). Although they had no interest in the teen club.

Thanks for your optimism! I called Carnival this morning and they told me that since my daughter will have just turned 18 that it shouldn't be a problem and to definitely bring her high school ID card :)
