So..........was our Epic adventure an Epic success???

After lurking on these boards for a while and asking tons of questions of you experts, we finally had our Epic adventure!

A little background on us......this was to be our first holiday without our DD......second honeymoon??;)

We left England for Barcelona and spent two nights at the Hotel H10 Universitat. Great hotel, great location, great staff....loved it!!

Best bit about it.......the roof-top bar with views over the city.....especially good for seeing the Epic dock on the Sunday morning!!

When I figure out how to add some photo's on here....I'll do just that!

We enjoyed our 2 days in Barcelona and did some sightseeing. We loved The Sagrada Familia.....a dream of mine to see this for years...it didn't disappoint!:)

Ramblas, I have to say, DID disappoint!! Too crowded, too expensive, not particularly authentic bars........just my opinion!

And so Sunday morning finally arrived. After a leisurely breakfast, we got a taxi to the port and so our adventure began!!

I'll be back later with some more!! ;)

I just tried it from my shutterfly account and it worked. I have to double click on the picture I want then a window opens up, one choice is to copy image, so I copied then I opened a "post reply" and pasted the picture my picture was there.

I don't think you want my Epic picture (from 2 years ago) in your thread though! :D

OK, let's carry on!! So we arrive at port and catch our first glimpse of our home for the next week! She sure is one HUGE ship!! We get out of our taxi and are immediately greeted by an NCL staff member who takes our cases and directs us to the waiting area. We are directed to a check-in line, fill in the health forms, hand over our credit card details ( OH DEAR!! LOL )and given a number.....7.......which was called before we even had time to take advantage of the coffee and cookies available!!

Then that was it.........we were onboard!!! Greeted by music, happy, smiling staff and the inevitable photographer!!

Having read lots of advice on here, we decided to make our way to O'Sheehans for a drink and a bite to eat......chicken wings for me......fish and chips for DH.....both were excellent!

Then a tour of the ship, taking in as much as we could!

Before we knew it, our room was ready and we made our way to Deck 13, Aft. Our cabin was actually an accessible cabin and it was HUGE......I was so surprised!! Within 20 minutes there was a knock on the door and Josephine, our room steward, was there with BOTH our cases!! I had thought one of them would end up in the * naughty room * as I had a travel iron with me because we were continuing our travels after the Epic. But no.......I escaped!!

We unpacked and went off for another look around. Came back to our cabin for sail away, chilled on our large balcony and then got ready for our first evening onboard!!

This was really cool for a shortie like me.....all the hanging space comes down to easy reach level!

and I'm sure there are lots of posters such as myself who are very grateful for the tips on how to post photos and are patient enough to wait for the OP to work out how to make her review the best it can be

Thank-you for that! :)

I am a total novice at this and will try my best, and like you, am grateful to all who have given me advice!

I'm getting there!! ;)

So our first evening was spent enjoying Cirque dinner. The entertainment was fantastic, we really enjoyed it. The food was really good too! I actually am allergic to fish and DH mentioned this to our server......I was just going to have him eat it, but no, our server brought me 2 lots of turf instead, how lovely!! :)

In all honesty though, I could have done without the food and just enjoyed the entertainment. I was a wee bit distracted by trying to eat and watch at the same time, but still, a great evening's entertainment!

After that we hit O'Sheehans, where we had a bottle of wine sent up from our wine package bought earlier!

Then it was off to the casino to lose a few dollars, a glass of wine on the balcony and a fairly early night! It had been a long, but lovely day! :)
