Bay of Fundy - Reversing Falls

Recommended Posts

we will be in St John on Sept 10 and would like to go to Bay of Fundy to see the reversing falls. Can anyone tell me what times of the tides for the falls on that date, please? Also recommendations for some private tours? Thank you -

Reversing falls...? I've always heard it referred to as a 'Tidal Bore' It's when the leading edge of the incoming tide forma a wave, which travels up the river against the current.

Here's the tide chart for Saint John, New Brunswick on September 10, 2012: http://tides.mobilegeographics.com/locations/5472.html?y=2012&m=9&d=10

The Reversing Falls is near the cruise port. According to this site, you can walk along the Harbour Passage pedestrian path to the Falls: http://www.cruisetimetables.com/cruises-to-saint-john-new-brunswick.html

If you go to Google Maps, type in "200 Bridge Rd, Saint John, New Brunswick", and switch to Satellite view, you'll see how close the Falls are to the ships.

The tidal bore is 160 KM away in City of Moncton. Reversing Falls, which is more accurately described as a vortex or rapids, is in Saint John.
