am588 Posted September 9, 2012 Author #151 Share Posted September 9, 2012 Your back!! Hope you had a great cruise!! We have all been waiting patiently for you!! lol Wondering about the buckets of beer...included in the 25% discount??? It was an awesome cruise! I didn't purchase a bucket of beer myself, but would assume this would qualify for 25% off because when they ring it in it is over $10.

alreadypacked Posted September 9, 2012 #153 Share Posted September 9, 2012 am588, glad you had a great cruise and thanks so much for coming back and answering all of our questions. Did you by any chance talk to anyone who purchased the program but whose roommate is a non-drinker? My situation is that 2 of us are drinkers, but the 3rd person in our room is not, and she would never pay for a drinks package. Would they just charge her for it anyway against her will? If she made a stink, would the 2 of us drinkers just be shut out of the program altogether?

The bar manager is who would be signing up up, and I think if you explain they might make an exception?
alreadypacked Posted September 9, 2012 #155 Share Posted September 9, 2012 Okay, thanks. Hopefully other cruise critics who purchase the program will post their experience. I'd like to try it, because it would be more convenient than buying Bon Voyage and going back to the room to make myself a drink. I liked it a lot when I sailed on Celebrity (though theirs included bottled water).

CWcruisers Posted September 9, 2012 #157 Share Posted September 9, 2012 Am588 said she witnessed 3 people be cut off when they reached 15, yet JH says it is only a flag for the bartender to access the customer. I have a feeling that there is still some confusion by the staff on what they are supposed to do. Iamcrzin, it is in writing on the flyer that buckets are not included. I have a feeling that there is still some confusion by the staff on what they are supposed to do. Two people...one from Victory and one from Splendor have said there was a 15 drink max/limit. I could see if one ship had bad info, but both? Me thinks the one that is incorrect is JH.

Yes. It still would be cheaper for me. We spent almost over $100.00 a day in the drinks of the day, beer, our regular alcoholic drinks and the coffee shops.:o I would rather prepaid as much as I can before the cruise and drinking is a big expense. After all, we are on a cruise to PARTY AND NOT WORRY ABOUT GETTING HOME.:D

Just read the flyer AGAIN and i do not see where it says NO BUCKETS INCLUDED. I do see where it says only 1 drink at a time but the way they have worded everything in the flyer is very confusing. So i guess i will not know the answer until i go in January or someone on here actually tries it. Just dont know why you could buy a bottle of wine or champagne for 25% discount and not be able to get a bucket of beer with the same discount.
nodogkisses Posted September 9, 2012 #163 Share Posted September 9, 2012 am588, did you or your BF order any of the drinks priced at $8.75 or $8.95, such as the mojitos, martinis? The package says that it includes drinks $10 or lower, but I'd like to clarify that they mean before the 15 percent gratuity is added. Otherwise, those drinks would be over $10. Thanks in advance. tk22 Posted September 9, 2012 #164 Share Posted September 9, 2012 Am I missing something, but why would someone buy a bucket of beer at 25% off when one could get 4 single beers at no charge?!?

Even at 25% off, you would get about $7.50 off that means you would have to buy like 6 buckets just to break even on the price of the bar package. Why not just order one beer at a time and not pay anything extra for the beer. You would just need to order one beer after another. You could ask for them not to be opened. nodogkisses Posted September 9, 2012 #167 Share Posted September 9, 2012 It is menu price up to &10.00 Thanks for the quick reply. Do you get your receipt just like you do when paying separately and are you able to use that receipt at the casino for Match Play if you ordered a classic cocktail, such as a mojito? Yes. We ordered from the martini and mojito bars and it was included. I also ordered Pinot gringo at dinner ($9.50) and it was included.

You do get a receipt for every drink with the full price, then a line under that says "my awesome 100% discount" that discounts the price. I'm not sure about match play

portlandpete Posted September 9, 2012 #172 Share Posted September 9, 2012 Would love to know if you can get the beer unopened? It is just 2 of us in the cabin and we love to end our night on the balcony with a few beers. This package would work great for us and we would try love to try different types of drinks! kafraser78 Posted September 9, 2012 #175 Share Posted September 9, 2012 6.5 drinks a day minimum to make it worth it. And so many people say they couldn't drink enough to make it worth it but if you drink:(1) mimosa at breakfast (1) drink at lunch (2) drinks while laying out reading on deck (1) glass of wine with dinner And (2) drinks after dinner in the bar, casino, comedy club, or my personal favorite- the piano bar There's your 7 (6.5) drinks {based on tropical/ froo froo drinks at about $7.50} As long as service is timely and the drinks still taste the same, this sounds like a great deal to me! I completely agree with u...my husband and I completely took this way of thinking and think its worth it.
