Monarch and Jade update

Hi,

Just off the Monarch. The crew is amazing!!!! Nicest and most accomodating.

For all you people taking her for the last time...

Don't wast your money at Jade Volcanic Rock grill. Way overpriced and the food is either too bland or too greasy. I know food is subjective, but this was a no brainer.

If you go to the Windjammer, and it's crazy...walk to the back and see if Jade is open. It is used as the overflow and the same food is served there buffet style.

The Schooner Bar is delightfully smoke free and you will get a strong pour from the bar. So order at the bar and then get a table. The place is huge and seating was not a problem.

We skipped the shows but there was a comic called Steve Smith. Saw him at the pre show. He was so good we went to his full show in the main theater at 11 pm. Good thing we went early, by showtime it was SRO. And a first for me....at the end this guy got a standing ovation. He was that good.

Food in MDR was just ok. Breads as always were the best.

For all you Coco Cay novices...get there early and go all the way to barefoot beach to experience what it would be like on a deserted island...there are plenty of shaded areas with loungers and you can relax and swim in privacy for a long time.

For the high life do what we did and get 4 friends and split the large cabana 4 ways. $200 gets you the royal treatment and a cooked to order lunch. Yiu can look up the other perks and then decide if this is worth it. Fancy couches, loungers, all in a private shaded cabana overlooking the ocean with the ship in view is quite nice. No crowds and personalized service and equipment like floatees and snorkel gear is all included. And all the ice you want for your champagne, juice and fruit plates which is all included!!!!

As for nassau...cabbots beach is just ok. Especially if you dont mind the fumes from all the jetskis. I should have insisted we go to the pay beach by the one and only resort.

Ok, thats it for now. Just the highlights and lowlights.

Ken

When we were on Monarch, Jade was upstairs from Windjammer and we enjoyed the meal very much!! Went again on next cruise on MN.

It still is......that Jade is the paying restaurant(deck 12)........the one past the WJ(deck 11) is also called Jade..

BUT the WJ Jade does not have all the same foods as the other part of the WJ.....the first part has more selections.esp on embarkation day.
