This is my first review and first post on cruise critic!:)

The summer of 2011 i went on my very first cruise for my senior trip.

We sailed through the western Caribbean with stops in Costa Maya, Rotan, Belize and Cozumel we had 2 sea days as well.

Our ship was in New Orleans so we went a day before our ship embarked.

New Orleans:

A very vibrant city with tons of exciting activities to try, our hotel was by the airport. Now the hotel situation was an interesting one. My grandparent’s booked 2 double queen bed rooms. When we arrived at the hotel they only had one room. The hotel put us in a no window room for no charge which was nice. We had a little time to freshen up and relax for a bit. The hotel was nice but could us a makeover. We hung out in the bar and waited for the rest of the gang to get settled. With me were my mom, grandpa, grandma, best friend, brother and aunt. We called a taxi and were whisked away to the big easy. Our taxi driver was a great guy! He gave us a great deal also. He showed us places that were still affected by Katrina and a grave yard that was on the way to the city. As we drove through the city to Bourbon Street we saw lots of trash bags on every street were not talking just one but 20-50 in one pile. Anyway we got to our destination and walked to the street. It was a very interesting place to be. It was appropriate during the day “normal” looking but boy once night came all hell broke lose. We walked down to locate a restaurant we found the Red Fish Grill. The food varied from fish/seafood to different meats I believe they had a vegetarian entrée. My aunt is a Vegan. Our waiter was very kind and showed good southern hospitality. He even gave us chocolate pudding bread at no charge! It was very good. The atmosphere and décor was very modern to elegant. I highly recommend this place. After dinner we walked around Bourbon Street and then made our way to the French quarter. I preferred the French quarter than Bourbon. We walked around and found the famous dessert place that serves beignets. Café Du Monde right by the water, they are just so yummy! We ate and walked back to Bourbon Street and were swept away in the chaos. Fish bowl beers, fish bowl, margaritas, vomit trash everywhere it was a experience. SEX SEX SEX was also on every building.. We did some shopping and made our way through the madness. We met our taxi guy at a hotel and made our way back to the hotel.

Photos to come soon!!

Stay tuned for more!!

Thanks everyone!:)

Sorry for the late part 2

So we woke up early to get to the airport to catch the bus for our ship. We got to the airport terminal for Norwegian and waited for the bus. The terminal for Norwegian was in the parking area so the smell of gas wasn’t pleasant. Our bus came and we were off to the terminal for the ship. On our way we got to see the building where they house the mardi gras parade floats. We arrived at the place I don’t really recall how the whole process went but we were last to board the ship I didn’t know your room key was, your passport, and credit card. After our group was called we walked up to the ship and got on. This was my first cruise so I didn’t really have an expectations or what a ship looks like. I thought it was pretty big the lobby was really nice lots of seating for everyone. They even have a coffee shop by the elevators. We entered by the front desk by the front desk is dinning reservations and the excursion desk. In the lobby area is where they do the photos and also have tables full of merchandise you can purchase. After we got on we immediately headed over to make dinning reservations. We made them to the Parisian restaurant. After that we headed to our room to find our luggage waiting for us. Our room was pretty descent you could say. It had 2 twin beds, a pull out bed above one of the beds, and then a chair that turns into a bed. A small tube TV, a small desk area the TV had some storage then the close which had deep shelves for all four of us in the room. We were on the 4th deck which made it easy to get on and off the ship during our ports. The bathroom was small it had a separate door for the toilet and the shower was a good size. After we got settled we met up with the rest of the gang at the galaxy lounge where we spent a lot of time sitting, chatting, and looking out onto the ocean. They also held some events there. The casino was a good size and behind it was a night club/lounge. During that evening we had a big issue. My mom’s credit card didn’t have enough credit on it apparently which was no one’s fault but the front desk agent was a bit of an *****. He didn’t want to help us and when he did he made it a big deal. We left to go find my grandparents and thankfully a nice blonde lady helped us out and apologized for his behavior. That was the only issue we had.

As promised pictures!
