Open on Saturday? - Nidhe Israel Synagogue in Barbados

We will be in Bridgetown Barbados on a Saturday. I have read conflicting information about whether the Nidhe Israel Synagogue (listed by some as the oldest Synagogue in the Western Hemisphere) is open on Saturdays, but all of the information was from quite a while ago.

 

Does anyone know whether a Saturday visit is possible?

It looks like they are not open on weekends, however you may be able to make arrangements.

Is there the reason for a synagogue to be closed on a Saturday when the prayers are conducted?

 

Maybe on Saturday the synagogue is opened for members only? Not for tourists?

Dayenu, it is an interesting thought and I am not sure - but from I have read online on Drew Kaplan's Blog about his visit, there are some Friday night services held there during certain times of the year and no Saturday services.

 

I have contacted the recommended Totally Barbados site for info and I am waiting to hear about - I'll post an update when I do.
