beenerm Posted May 19, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2005 My wife and I will be in George Town on the 31st of May. She is 41/2 months pregnant and wants to see the butter fly farm and other attractions, but there is only the butter fly and Semi-Sub for shore excursions. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. jebridan Posted May 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 20, 2005 I may be mistaken but I believe the butterfly farm is gone because of the hurricane last year that hit GC.
WeCruiseForFun Posted May 20, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 20, 2005 We were in Georgetown in March and the butterfly farm is in good shape. It was an interesting, low key attraction. We would have enjoyed it, but my daughter's friend was traveling with us and she fainted in the middle of the informative orientation talk. She passed out cold and hit the ground. It was too bad, because she was the one who really wanted to see the butterfly farm.

Do you remember how much the trip was? Thanks!
zydecocruiser Posted May 23, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 23, 2005 The Butterfly Farm is alive and well. They had to exterminate all the butterflies prior to Ivan to make sure they couldn't be blown somewhere they aren't wanted. It reopened last December. http://www.thebutterflyfarm.com/
xynewbie Posted May 23, 2005 #6 Share Posted May 23, 2005 In 2003 we took Captain Marvin's Watersports and had a tour to the Butterfly Farm and then they took us to a beach for about an hour then came and got us in a glass bottom boat and then took us to their dock right across from their business. We were the first person to take the tour and it was just me and DW on it. They were very nice. They gave us a rum cake and a bottle water at the conclusion of the tour. You can go to their website and that tour is still listed. We were in Georgetown in March and the butterfly farm is in good shape. It was an interesting, low key attraction.
