Momis2 Posted September 20, 2012 #29 Share Posted September 20, 2012 We are going on our first B2B2B from L.A. to NYC. It is a reposition of the Splendor around South America. This will be a 48 day cruise. We have never been gone this long and are really looking forward to it!
barante Posted September 20, 2012 #30 Share Posted September 20, 2012 A few years ago, we did the first leg -- from FLL to Buenos Aires. A great trip. On the last day, I rode the waterslide 15 times!
lcmdir Posted September 26, 2012 #31 Share Posted September 26, 2012 Our repo. cruises: NCL Pearl, Sept., 2005(?), 14 days, Los Angles - Miami, Porthole window, $499 (plus fees, taxes) NCL Star, April, 2012, 12 days, Tampa - NYC, inside $599 (plus fees, taxes) NCL Star, Oct. 2012, 14 days, NYC - New Orleans, inside, $699 (plus fees, taxes) Booking last minute used to be the way to get bargain prices. But recently I've found that early bookings are cheaper. We've never been on a bad cruise (out of 30+ on Carnival, NCL, RCI, HAL, Princess, & Celebrity -- loved them all!). momoftwinteens Posted September 26, 2012 #32 Share Posted September 26, 2012 We are going on our first repo cruise in November 2013. Boston to Tampa, two weeks with lots of stops in Caribbean on the NCL Dawn. I can't wait.
bdpnatl Posted September 27, 2012 #33 Share Posted September 27, 2012 We have been on one transatlantic and have booked our second one. While the ship was not full, it certainly was not almost empty either. All of the restaurants and venues were open and we saw no difference in the level of service or quality of the food, shows, etc. . We do enjoy the days at sea. They are very relaxing and they seem to pass all to quickly.

You didn't state whether you booked those early or last minute, but there are plenty of very nice prices on last minute repositioning cruises right now. Just a few examples, received today for Royal Caribbean - 14 nights Grandeur of the Seas from $549 - 16 nights Mariner of the Seas from $599 - 14 nights Liberty of the Seas from $
fleckle Posted September 27, 2012 #35 Share Posted September 27, 2012 They just keep on coming! No sooner had I finished posting my previous message about the repositioning cruises on Royal Caribbean when transatlantic repositioning offers arrived from Holland America. Examples: 14 days Noordam from $599 15 days Ryndam from $
trainfan Posted September 27, 2012 #36 Share Posted September 27, 2012 We have done LA to Sydney Australia each way and enjoyed it both times. We are about to do our third!. The nice thing about longer repositioning (as opposed to coastals e.g. LA to Vancouver) is that there are usually almost kid free as the kids are in school when the cruises occur plus many parents don't want to take the kids out of school for 20+ days. We did one coastal LA - Vancouver that was packed with kids who had no idea of sanitation at the buffet (handling food with bare hands, putting food back on the serving tray, not sanitizing their hands before eating). Within 24 hours there was an out-break of noro-virus. Not saying it was the kids fault but we had just done 32 days from Sydney to LA and had no issues.
