Millenium Hotel - Anchorage -- COMMENTS??

Please help me. I've read many negative comments on the Millenium Hotel in Anchorage and I've read some good comments too. Has anyone been there this year? I read somewhere that they were remodeling the hotel this winter. Is this true? Should I cancel my reservations there? This hotel is our last four days of vacation and I don't want to end on a negative note...

Did you end up staying at the Millenium? I have been looking at it for our cruise next summer. The other choices on my short list are the Hawthorne Suites and Clarion Suites. Those 2 are both in the Toursaver book. I would appreciate any input. Thanks

Millenium is a nice place.It's the Iditarod race headquarters each March. About as close to the airport as you can get.Lots of other hotels in the area along with some restaurants within walking distance.

The Millenium is one of my favourite hotels in Anchorage - I stay there at least a couple of nights every year, and have never had a problem. I just checked the reviews at TripAdvisor, and those would sure put me off - I really don't know how to relate their negative experiences to my positive ones.
