We are going on a cruise to the Bahamas on Oct. 4th (yea!!) My 17 year old has decided to go at last minute. His father and I are divorced. Do I need a notorized letter in order to take him along? We have shared custody, with me being primary gaurdian. He has a state issued ID and BC, but I do not have time to obtain a passport :(. Thanks for any info!

yes, and i have repeated this several times on the boards.

most people know that it "can" happen but doubt that it will.

My friend was leaving for a cruise out of FL and she & her ds were denied boarding for not having the letter.

So yes, if you can get it, by all means do so. Soon he'll be 18 and you won't have to worry about it. :)
