The grounds are gorgeous and there are plenty of palm trees which provide shade from the Caribbean sun. However, entering the water is quite rocky and wearing water shoes would be a good idea. If you do not want to purchase the $12.00 pass to use the water toys, there is space to swim in the water and around the inflatable water toys. There is also a large pool which you could use without having to purchase the pass. There were 3 ships in port the day we were at Paradise, yet we did not find the beach to be that crowded at all.
