Nadersmom Posted October 3, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2012 I've read that some ships have rooms with therostats, others have vents you can open and close I've read that some ships have rooms that are extremely cold and some have rooms that are overly warm and a small fan is a smart thing to pack. So......Elation......Riviera deck.......Ocean view room... Hot? Cold? DH is usually warm all the time. I, of course, being a girl, am usually cold when I go to bed. But this is a confined room with no "air flow" other than the vent, so who knows. Can anyone comment on the rooms on Elation Riviera deck?
SadieN Posted October 3, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2012 It's a vent on the ceiling. Never did much to the actual flow of air but did adjust the temp.

No rooms have thermostats in them. One time our room was warm the whole time except at night. We called about it and they send maintance in to check it and it was fine. I think it was just so hot outside and in the ship it didn't cool off that much. The other time the temp was fine in the room but it wasn't so hot outside that trip out. It was never really that "uncomfortable" for us but we managed and had fun!!
BigDfromTN Posted October 3, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2012 Keep your blinds and door closed. That will make alot of difference in how well the room cools down.
Almost Packed Posted October 3, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 3, 2012 we were on the elation in Feb...and there's a vent and a controller in the ceiling. i do not remember exactly what it did-controlled the speed of the fan or the temp of the air blowing out...but i do remember standing on the bed trying to turn it down because we were cold. MelBCroozer Posted October 4, 2012 #6 Share Posted October 4, 2012 We were on Elation on August 6 sailing. We had an OV cabin on Empress deck. Our cabin was very warm and so was our daughters' cabin. Maintenance came and said it read 71 degrees. Well, maybe if you stuck your hand right on the vent, but our room was generally warm. Bring a small fan for DH. I think he'll need it!! Just one of those things that happens. We still had a great cruise!!
Nadersmom Posted October 4, 2012 Author #7 Share Posted October 4, 2012 OK I think I'll take one just to be safe. Better to have it and not need it. Thanks everyone for the responses!!
