Sparky9 Posted October 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 10, 2012 My daughter and I are booked on the GCT Christmas Markets Along the Rhine departing Dec 2. We are making our own travel plans, but we were wondering if anyone has experience in the transportation system in Basel. We need to get from the pier to the airport on the last day, but so far I'm not able to get too much information other then a taxi, which I think is very expensive. Any suggestions??:) Love to hear from you.
swamp1sg Posted October 11, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 11, 2012 There may be mass transport, a light rail system. I know that it is pretty extensive.
txmascruiser Posted October 11, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2012 There is definitely rail service. We are on a cruise Amsterdam-Basel and are doing our own flights and transfers and are booking a train with SwissRail. Suggest you check out their website! caviargal Posted October 11, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2012 There is a bus from the main train station. For our December trip, it does not operate early enough so we booked a reasonable and reputable private transfer to take us: http://www.suntransfers.com
