daliflor Posted October 17, 2012 Author #51 Share Posted October 17, 2012 For us, the first Elegant Night aboard Carnival's CONQUEST cruise ship ended way past Midnight and it was an entertaining one! The stateroom attendants were very elegant that night : - )) Until next time: Good night, Moon! Good night, Stars!
bdaddyiii Posted October 18, 2012 #52 Share Posted October 18, 2012 daliflor, I am loving these trip through your cruise photos. I am scheduled to be aboard the Conquest in 24 days. You are killing me, will you please posts some more of your photos. By the way, was that the Captain in street closed dancing with everyone in Henri's Night Club? lol. Great photos. Thanks You're very kind - thank you for dropping the nice note. The Master of the ship... DISCO dancing?! Who knows? May be he was undercover... or maybe someone else tried to clone or even impersonate him : - )) On a more serious note, with the new "face-lift," I am confident that the improved Conquest will meet your expectations and you'll certainly have plenty of opportunitties for... daliflor Posted October 18, 2012 Author #54 Share Posted October 18, 2012 (edited) Next installment of our TRIP JOURNAL: Second FUN DAY AT SEA aboard Carnival's Conquest - Tuesday, September 25th 2012 If Monday we had plenty of clouds gathering, on Tuesday, the weather remained hot and humid with less clouds... Still no sun appearing on the horizon... As we woke up earlier that morning, we decided to try a relaxed breakfast in the Monet Restaurant. Without getting into details, it wasn't a good idea overall (mainly because of the poor and terribly slow service though we weren't in any hurry!), so we decided not to repeat it for the remaining of the cruise : - )) For specifics, check out "firefly333" comment regarding breakfast -- on the more comprehensive review of our sailing posted here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1718256 Edited October 18, 2012 by daliflor
daliflor Posted October 22, 2012 Author #55 Share Posted October 22, 2012 Our second FUN DAY AT SEA aboard Carnival's Conquest continued by the Poool deck, relaxing (Tuesday, September 25th 2012)... At 12noon, the shops aboard became suddenly crowded as the "Invicta Watch Sale" was going on... By the time we returned to the Pool deck from a SPA seminar, the "Hairy Chest Contest" was already over! We were told that we didn't miss much as the game was a quick one as no really "hairy man" was to be found around : - )) However, by 1pm, we got to enjoy a third generation artist at work during the "Ice carving demonstration:" VIDEO ("Ice carving demo" in rhytm of Reggaeton):
daliflor Posted October 22, 2012 Author #56 Share Posted October 22, 2012 Starting around 1pm, a third generation artist got to "perform" in front of us during the "Ice carving demonstration" (Tuesday, September 25th 2012): VIDEO ("Ice carving demo" in rhytm of Reggaeton): VIDEO ("Ice carving demo" in rhytm of Reggaeton): VIDEO ("Ice carving demo" in rhytm of Reggaeton): VIDEO ("Ice carving demo" in rhytm of Reggaeton): VIDEO ("Ice carving demo" in rhytm of Reggaeton):

daliflor Posted October 23, 2012 Author #58 Share Posted October 23, 2012 The sun refused to come out that Tuesday, September 25th 2012... However, we enjoyed a pleasant afternoon by the Pools and many other guests seemed to simply relax as well. And LOVE was in the air too! Freddy, Carnival's fun-loving mascot, was mingling with fans:
daliflor Posted October 23, 2012 Author #59 Share Posted October 23, 2012 Our second FUN DAY AT SEA aboard Carnival's Conquest continued inside, listening to the piano man while sipping refreshments (Tuesday, September 25th 2012)...
daliflor Posted October 23, 2012 Author #60 Share Posted October 23, 2012 As reflected by the activities schedule posted above, on Tuesday evening (our second Fun Day at Sea) various entertainment options were available aboard the ship. As part of the CruiseMiles Party group aboard Carnival's Conquest cruise ship (yepe, won this Caribbean cruise for free, remember?!), all 160-170 of us were heading to the late seating dinner in the Monet Restaurant... The beauty of being part of a large, organized "group" is that they organize and sponsor some of the activities and Tuesday night was what Europeans call "Fancy Dress" (aka Costume night). Right before the casual dinner started, the waiters were enteraining us with their dance moves in the MDR: (using some shots taken by our colleague, Dave)
daliflor Posted October 23, 2012 Author #61 Share Posted October 23, 2012 The Monet Restaurant was so animated on Tuesday night (especially in our "section") that food came secondarly and the images are not that great:

daliflor Posted October 26, 2012 Author #65 Share Posted October 26, 2012 After Tuesday's dinner (September 25th 2012), most of the guests headed to the 3rd deck Lobby for what has been advertised as the "Party: New Orleans Style!" The most emotional moment came after the Mardi Gras beads were handed out... Gary, the Cruise Director from UK, introduced his good friend Milan. And the Serbian "auctioner" proposed to his girlfriend, Katie (showband vocalist from NYC) in front of all of us... She said "Yes!" trubadur Posted October 27, 2012 #72 Share Posted October 27, 2012 What's with the costumes? Is this something that is done regurlarly. What about the Mardi Gras- is that also done on a regular basis When we cruised from NOLA in 2011, there was also a Mardi Gras type of party aboard the ship.... can't say for sure but it may be something organized for those New Orleans sailings. The costumes were explained at some point - OP was part of a large, organized group and the costume party was an event this group put together for their members..... or this is my understanding. trubadur Posted October 27, 2012 #73 Share Posted October 27, 2012 What's with the costumes? Is this something that is done regurlarly. What about the Mardi Gras- is that also done on a regular basis Got a more detailed explanation by the Carnival cruises expert on this board (part of the same group and went on the same cruise as the OP): I was on this same cruise and our only big complaint was cold dinners every night. I was with Lord Richard's group of 180, so maybe that was the problem? He took us to the steak house one night and up there my lobster again was not edible. (in contrast I was on Magic last week and the lobster was cooked perfect, and dinners were warm all week)... We were the group who dressed up like Halloween mardi gras night and paraded around like a bunch of fools!! lmao.. we had a great cruise overall. OP sorry I didnt get to meet you too.
