Riviera B4 cabin noise ?

I had a problem with a cat B veranda on the Marina. It was cabin 8054 (port) right near the elevators.

As we were going through the Florida Straits (I was on a Southern Carib cruise in March 2012), it was very windy and the ship rocked somewhat. THE NOISE CAME FROM THE ELEVATOR CABLES CLANGING TOGETHER. Heard it going south and then again the last night cruising back to Miami (which wasn't very windy going back).

Since I'm a light sleeper, it wasn't good for me, but I bring earplugs (snoring hubby), but I would not choose that cabin again, especially if it was a transatlantic.

This cabin was offered as an upsell to me, maybe that's why it was available.

I'm not complaining, because the cruise was wonderful and that would be least of my worries, but I would not consider any cabin in that area again.

We stayed in stateroom 7029 on the Marina, which is configured the same as the Riveria. The room was absolutely quiet.

Great to hear ! Thanks for the response. 7031 now booked !
