Charlestongirl Posted May 23, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2005 Does anyone know if the insurance I can purchase would cover us if my husband, who is active duty military, were to get orders somewhere before our cruise? This isn't likely but I'd feel better knowing we were covered just in case. I tried looking around but couldn't anything for sure. Thanks.
katybird Posted May 23, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2005 www.insuremytrip.com is a good site to compare policies. I found this under the FAG's on that site. Q. I am in the military. What if I am called to duty or denied leave? A. If your leave is denied because of declared or undeclared war, all policies will exclude that reason. There are several companies that address military leave or being called to duty in one form or another: Access America, Travel Guard - Cruise, Tour & Travel plan, Travel Insured, TravelSafe and Travelex all have "perils" that touch on this. I hope this helps and will give you a start.Good luck!

samdham Posted May 23, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 23, 2005 You might try USAA. Since they specialize in insurance for military members and their families, I bet they could help you out. If they don't provide insurance for that reason, I doubt anyone would.
Basswitche Posted May 23, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 23, 2005 Just had that question come up from a client. Travel Guard will cover it but only with Cruise, Tour and Travel. It is not cheap. I would talk to NCL and see if they would do anything for you. KP
