Drop off at NoLa terminal?

Where do we go if someone is dropping us and our bags off at the terminal? We are thinking the men will drop the women and children off with our luggage, then return to the hotel and park, then catch a cab back to the pier. The hotel is less than two miles away, but the shuttle costs $8 a person, and there are 9 of us, so we are thinking this might be the easiest/most economical for our crew.

When we were there, we had a cab take us from hotel to port. Where the cabbie pulled up to unload us, there were also individuals unloading their vehicles close by. If that is not correct when you get there, there is always someone to direct you where to park to unload your personal vehicle.

Have a great trip !!! :)

When arriving at the terminal, you will continue past, likely in the left lane, where most will be turning right to park at the terminal. Then procede to the other end of the terminal building, where "the men" can the turn into(to the right) and under a covered area where they can safely drop the rest of you off with luggage. There should be porter's around and about to cart all of the luggage into the terminal for you. Usually a $5 tip will suffice with these guys, or use your own descretion.

Please bear in mind that with two ships loading now the traffic is horrific. Last year there was at least an hour back up mid day for people trying to get to unload. It is a one way street and controlled very strictly by the cops. Commercial traffic, i.e., buses, tour vehicles and cabs have a "special" way in. And people that think they have outsmarted the system, tend to try to walk the wrong way down the street and really mess things up. Do allow yourself plenty of time and patience to make it in.
