Easternshorgirl - A similiar thing happened to me in Mexico City years ago. I protested but ended up paying the full amount. I discussed it with the staff at our hotel, and they said you have to be careful, because sometimes local police work with these people. Thanks for your heads up, its a good reminder of keeping on your toes. 99% of the people on these Islands are great, but its the 1% you have to worry about.

Thanks, I agree with you. We have never encountered this anywhere else before so that's why it took us by surprise. I konow there are more good than bad.
