How long before VIP staus shows

We are cruising in April for my wife's 10th and my 9th time. When I check the luggage tags they are still the standard tags. Her VIFP status says on her next cruise she will be Platinum. We completed our last cruise about 2 weeks ago and it shows up in our history already. Just wasn't sure if it changed automatically or if we needed to wait longer or call.

I had to call carnival to get VIP on my 10th cruise. They fixed it and when I went in to look at it again it was VIP.

Hubby showed up as VIP on our 10th cruise. However, I didn't get my platinum card when we boarded. We had to discuss things with several people and the guy that was working the FCC desk on that cruise actually helped us pull up our Carnivl records midweek so that I could physically show them to the guest services desk. Only then did I get my card and the platinum gifts etc.
