Really enjoying your review. What a fun loving bunch you are. Just wondering if you had any complaints from neighbors that were not in your group......I imagine you were all pretty rowdy....

Thanks parisbully....No complaints at all....other than Balcony time during the daylight and early evening hours we keep our 'celebrating' to Public Spaces....Never, ever had a complaint from neighbours on any of the Cruises we have been on

Sometimes people join in on our group activities. Especially the pub crawls.

I had no neighbors and was in a cabin by myself, having snagged one of the last 1-A cabins before they changed their discount policy on those. I was so far down in the ship that I had to step over huge bales of rice and potatoes and meat to get through the passageways to my straw-covered cot in a corner of the meat refrigerator. I did become buddies with a couple of very sensual legs of lamb.

We arrived at Sam’s Piano Bar at exactly 2:30pm primed for 2 hours of hydrating and ‘hydrate’ we did. Our Bartender and Drink Waitress were happy, fun and provided us with the BEST Service we could have asked for and they worked HARD and NON-STOP. There were 21 of us who had paid for the privilege of going on a 2-hour diet of alcohol and mini-Whale Animal Crackers. Conclusion #676: LOVE those little guys!!!!! The first 45 minutes could be described as GREAT pre-dinner Drinks with close friends;

Donna and Allen

....everyone talking, laughing, wandering by the Bar every once in a while to order a made-to-order drink or picking one off the tray of our ‘always there’ Waitress Conclusion #677: ‘always there’ in a good way - as we all moved from table to table or couch to couch.

Lynne had brought a bunch of different Door Prizes and Dee and I each won a Palm Tree Cruise Trophy that are proudly displayed with the ‘Ships on a Stick’ from each Ship Dee and I have been on together.

The last 75 minutes of the Cocktail Reception was everything the first 45 minutes had been and more…. + LIQUID GLUTTONY.

Oh GREAT!!!...Tequila Neat

RefinedAllen.jpg

We started giving Recipes to the Bartender off of Lynne’s list as well as a few ‘we just knew’ Recipes and between him and our Drink Waitress we saw tray after tray of drinks. Conclusion #678: We were truly ‘Tray’lor Trash. The taste of some of the drinks was as bad as their names - Conclusion #679: Very naughty!!! - while others such as the Paralyzer were both drink and verb. We had an AWESOME time!!!

The volume went up, the laughs got louder and the scheming and putting together of a plan began. All of a sudden Dee and I saw Shelly talking to Dan and Coral and then we see the 2 of them start laughing and Shelly turns around and walks away. I don’t know where the idea started but it went around Sam’s Piano Bar faster than a tray.

Back on the Carnival Splendor Jimmy had got down on one knee during our ‘Stupid Hat Bar Crawl’ and ‘Cruise-Proposed’ to Shelly with a Ring made out of the Wire off the top of an empty Champagne Bottle. Happy to announce Shelly ‘Cruise-Accepted’.

Showing off the Ring on the Carnival Splendor...

14 months had passed so it was time to make this ‘Cruise-Official’ “We’re goin to the Cruise Chapel and they’re gonna get ‘Cruise-Married!.”

2 hours after entering Sam’s Piano Bar we took up a very healthy Collection for our AWESOME Bar Staff, gave it to them, grabbed 42 drinks for 42 hands grabbed and made our way next door to the Carnival Miracle Wedding Chapel where Dee’s brother and my soon to be brother-in-law, Dan, would be officiating the 4:30pm ‘Cruise-Nuptials.

ReverandDan.jpg

Even though this was a ‘Cruise-Wedding’ between Shelly and Jimmy let’s just say ‘where there’s Smoke there is most definitely Fire’. Therefore Seating at the Ceremony was determined based on whether you have been positioned on Team Shelly (the Fire) or firmly planted on Team Jimmy (the Smoke) over the previous several years. Conclusion #679: Many of us wish Jimmy would just ‘Quit Smoking’. Including Shelly and Jimmy the Final Score was Team Shelly: 14 and Team Jimmy 5 ....with 1 clear Abstention, Dan, and 1 spoiled Ballot as even though she did sit on Team Jimmy’s side of the Chapel Allison didn’t know WTH was going on; she was just there for the Communion we had all brought along.

Even a Celebrity stopped by - A 'Tebow' right beside Allison

After everyone was seated and Jimmy took his place just in front of Dan we all waited with alcohol-baited breath for Shelly to arrive. Seeing Shelly being escorted down the Aisle by our very own Valentine’s Baby only added to pageantry of the occasion.

The Ceremony went off without a hitch and not only did the many laughs and emotions of seeing 2 friends pretend marry at Sea bring tears to our eyes for Dee, Coral and I it was even a little more special. Seeing Dan lead these proceeding in the manner in which he did was almost too much for us; it was as if he had found his calling - it was obvious to us that Dan was born to be a drunken, non-ordained, Sandal-wearing Marriage Commissioner of fictitious Marriages at Sea.

A very unique exchange of Beer-Tab Rings wound up the formalities....

...and had us all cheering and whooping it up.

Even though the seamlessness, proficiency and precision timing of this Ceremony didn’t need any more proof it arrived just after we had all cleaned up our mess, picked up our empties, forever remembered as our Caribbean Confetti, and followed the pretend Bridal Couple down the Aisle to the Exit in the form of a female Carnival Staff Member who popped her head in to see what was going on. “What a beautiful Chapel this is!!!” we said as we all filed past her and made our way to the Mr. Lucky’s Casino for our 4:45pm Group Slot Pull.

I get all verklempt every time I think about how beautiful' date=' sacred and awe-inspiring the wedding was.[/quote']

I even wore my Charlotte Roller Girls shirt to emphasize the solemnity of the occasion and I was so honored to escort the bride down the aisle. I'm getting all choked up again.... now where did I put my lace-trimmed hankie?

I'm getting a little teary myself as I relive my cruise wedding. Good thing there were pictures, the details are a little fuzzy.

Allen, you made a great father-of-the-bride, and thanks to my MOH, Donna.

There was a rumor that a video was shot, but I have yet to see it.

The picture of Peewee dancing at the alter is killing me! Even with my good will gesture of Tebowing for the big guy before the ceremony I'm certain that after being witness to that ordeal I have zero chance of hanging out with him when I get to the other side

I haven't seen the video either. But I was told it's called "The Consummation".
