Wonderful AMA Black Sea Cruise

AMAWaterways did an excellent job with our cruise of eastern Europe. My husband and I began the trip in Istanbul and departed in Budapest. The cruise manager, Peter Whitehead, was top-notch in every way. The food was fabulous, and we, especially, enjoyed the foods and wines of the regions in which we were visiting. The logistics were quite difficult but AMA came through with buses and guides waiting for us exactly when expected. Most days involved bus trips which could be tiring but this means of transportation was necessary if we wanted to get to the places one wants to see on an eastern European river cruise. Our first river cruise was a success in everyway.

We are doing this trip in May 2013. Did you fly from Istanbul to Bucharest or take the bus? We opted to fly. If you care to share any details they would be welcomed for our future trip.

We took the bus as did most people. We wanted to see the countryside and wanted to save a little money, but it was a long trip and I think you will enjoy having the extra day in Istanbul. Have a great time....
