Hawaii sailings

We are very interested to know which side of the ship faced the port. We are anxious to book on Pride of America but know Pride of Aloha has been running the same route this past year.

So, what side of the ship did you stay on, starboard or port side and what was your view? The port or the water?

Thanks,

Karl

We were on the Starboard side, and in Honolulu we faced the dock. At Kauai, the port side faced the dock, and sailing past the Napali coast the port side faced the coast. Sailing past the volcano at night, the starboard side was the first to see the red hot lava, then the ship stopped, and made a 360 degree turn, and then we were also the last to see the lava. You kind of take your pick and take your chances. I'd have liked to be on the port side sailing past the Napali coast because there were a lot of people lined up at the rails on the upper decks and it was hard to get good pictures. If our balcony had been on the port side, we would have just stayed there.

What a terrific question. Never gave this a thought.
