How long to get of Splendour

Hi there! I just cruised on the Splendour of the Seas on 10/20 and had a flight that left at 11:35am from Marco Polo airport. My husband and I did the 'Express Departure', which allows guests to leave the ship with luggage in hand from 7am-7:30am. It was a breeze. We walked off at 7:15am with no lines and no waiting. We decided to take the people mover to Piazzale Roma where we caught the ACTV line 1 shuttle. This was much cheaper than a taxi (45 euros). We arrived at the airport with plenty of time (I think it was around 8:15am), so much time that we probably would have been fine if we didn't use the 'Express Departure'. Hope this helps!

I second Libby's comments. We walked off Splendour at 7:05am on Saturday 3rd Nov, walked to the People Mover and caught it to Piazzale Roma and walked to the train station. We arrived at the train station at 7:30am, just 25mins later. Enjoy Splendour, she's a beautiful ship.

You also tend to find that if you leave later the queues to get on the People mover are longer. We left ship at 9am and weren't in a rush. The queues were long but we just walked up the road to the roundabout, turned left and walked to Piazzale Roma - obviously depends on weather etc (we have 3 large pull along cases and 4 little cabin ones and it was fine):)

  • 3 months later...
I'mm on Splendour next week , I have an early flight out of Venice, how long would I be getting off the ship if I carry my own bags

Did you make it on time? We have the same quandary - do we book the 11.35am flight after disembarking from Splendour on 10 August?

Andrew.
