lutzcruiser Posted November 6, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2012 Has anyone taken a tour from Bangkok to Angor Watt while on an O cruise? I am looking for information on private and O tours. We will be starting in Bangkok so we plan to arrive early in order to go to Cambodia to see that region. Any info would be appreciated.
sacarr Posted November 6, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 6, 2012 A few years ago we took an Oceania land tour to Angkor Wat (Siem Reap). This was a two night and three(full) day tour. There is no question that this was one of the best land tours we have ever taken. We left the ship from Bangkok airport and rejoined the ship in Vietnam. There are many temples in the Siem Reap area, Angkor is the largest but the are many others that are very impressive. We also spent part of a day at Tonle Sap, a lake with permanent residents living on it. This was very interesting. It sounds like you will be doing this before your cruise. I think that you could do it either way- with O or independently. You might ask your TA what they can put together for you and compare itinerary and costs. This is something that you really don't want to miss. Steve
no fuss travel Posted November 6, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 6, 2012 Do a private tour rather than Oceania's. I think you will find it more reasonable. Angor Wat was incredible and we are so glad that we went to see it. The various temples around the area add much to your tour and seeing the water buffalo up close is something else.
