Buccament Bay, St Vincent question

Buccament Bay is quite a drive from the port at Kingstown - maybe an hour or more. Also, there's nothing else around there. I don't know about the hotel's policy about day guests - it probably doesn't happen very often. It's also not a really nice beach, because the resort, not liking the black sand, trucked in a huge amount of white sand and tried to cover it over. So it isn't really attractive and there are no trees for shade nearby.

Here's a suggestion that might work better for you. Get off the ship and find a taxi driver, there will be lots of them around. Tell him what you'd like to do for the day and agree on a price. He can give you a little bit of a driving tour and drop you at a nice beach, then pick you up again when you tell him to come for you. The Vincys are nice helpful people and they really need your tourist dollars. Hire a local guy and I'm sure he'll give you a fair price and a good day.
