mom 37 Posted May 26, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2005 I have been looking for san juan hotels. We are going on the cruise in September. I have a Major problem. The San Juan Marriott AND the Wyndam El San Juan are being renovated during that time. The Sheraton Old San Juan does not have rooms on our date. These 3 hotels were my top choices. Please can anyone give me some more ideas for other hotels?? Its just a 1 night pre-cruise and we have our kids with us.
NAS-KARR Posted May 26, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2005 MOM 37, DW and I, in April 05, spent 3 days pre-c. in San Juan at the INTERCONTINENTAL. A 4 star job w/pool, beach 3 or 4 restaurants incl one on their boardwalk on the beach. The price per I don't re-member but knowing me it had to be "the going reasonable rate" Ck it out on the internet. Ciao !
stones902 Posted May 26, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 26, 2005 Agree w/ previous poster. The Intercontinental in Isle Verde is the way to go. Right next door to the Wyndham El San Juan. Very nice property.
TheresaK Posted May 29, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 29, 2005 We are cruising from San Juan January 28th on the Golden Princess. The only hotel I could find under $100 per night was the El Portal Hotel. There was little or no information about it's location from the airport and the piers. Has anyone stayed there or is familiar with this hotel? Thanks! crisp1 Posted May 29, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 29, 2005 If you want to stay in Old San Juan, look at the El Convento- used to be a convent- near the fort. If you want a beach, casino, spa, great pools, then I'd go for the Intercontinental. Last year we were able to get it for $135 per night Easter weekend thru Priceline. mom 37 Posted May 29, 2005 Author #6 Share Posted May 29, 2005 Thanks everyone for your help. I went ahead and booked the Intercontinental for our September cruise. If anyone is interested I got it for $169 for the superior city view. The price for the standard city view is $149. I called them directly to get the 14-Day Advance price. The only problem is you cant cancel or change your reservation. It looks like a really nice hotel from the pictures from their site.
