Booking one cruise after another...

Apologies in advance if this has been discussed a bunch of times. :)

 

We're booked on the Grandeur in May, and the friends we're going with have already started talking about booking another cruise next year, possibly around New Year's Eve or in early 2014. I'm really liking that idea.

 

This will be our first RCI cruise. Would it be better to book the second cruise before our May cruise, or does RCI offer enticing deals if you book while you're still on a cruise?

Royal has program for booking cruises while on board. They will give you a reduced deposit and an on board credit, but no actual decrease in the price of the cruise. The amount of on board credit varies according to the length of the cruise booked. For a 7 day cruise, the on board credit is $100.

 

Your dilemma is to predict whether the price of your intended cruise will go up between now and May such that the on board credit won't be enough to make up the price increase. It's a problem we all have, and there's no way to predict what will happen to the price.

I think it is always a good thing to have something to look forward, so why not?

 

I did the same thing, I've booked a second cruise without having gone on the first one yet. :)
