Conquest - feels like first cruise all over again

Hello Cruisers -

This will be our second cruise. The first one was on Sensation (if you remember) she sailed out of NO. However, this was years ago so it feels like "first" time cruise all over again.

We are sailing in Feb so the first question that I have for anyone that has cruised in Feb - how is the weather (sailing out of NO to Eastern Caribbean - Key West & Bahamas). Is the water typically smooth in Feb or can it be rough?

Second - any recommendations on deck and/or cabin selection? We were thinking of a balcony but not sure which deck to stay on? does it really matter?

Any recommendations for excursions on this cruise to Key West and Nassau Bahamas?

Any suggestions or recommendations that we should know as it relates to discounts, boarding, luggage, alcohol, etc.

We are excited to sail and also see the new dudes of the ship.

Thanks in advance everyone!

Since she is just coming back from dry-dock with the new upgrades it will definitely be like a new cruise. Have to admit being just a little jealous since we were on the cruise right before dry-dock so we have not seen what she looks like with the upgrades. Still my favorite ship though.

We sailed on the Conquest twice and enjoyed it both times. We were on her last April before she was moved from Galveston, TX. Our roundtrip cruise from Galveston to the Bahamas was great.

We splurged on a Grand Suite on Empress Deck. We really enjoyed the extra space and the big balcony was nice. :D

If you're interested, you can see my wife's pictures at the link below. It's a slide show but you can click through them to view them faster.

Thanks for sharing the link of pics. Enjoyed them. :-)

We are looking at the upper and empress deck. Is there much of a difference with the two deck that you can remember? Is the 6 and 7 deck far from everything or just right?

Thanks again!

The primary difference between Upper and Empress is what's below them. On Empress, you have the Upper below it so it's all cabins above and below. With Upper, you have the Promenade level below (the casino, the disco, most of the bars). Higher chance of noise seeping through on Upper than on Empress.
