Enough time for Panama City tour?

Hi,

We are arriving in Colon on Jan. 5 from the Windstar cruise.

Our departure flight from Panama City is at 2:30PM.

Do we have time to do any sight seeing on the way to the airport?

What would you recommend?

And can you recommend a driver also?

Thank you,

Rita

Assuming you are off the ship by 8AM. Negotiate a driver for the morning. Figure $25-30 and hour, but remember the driver is probably going to have to return to Colon without a fare in the evening, so you're going to pay more. Your flight is at 2:30pm, so I'd plan to arrive at the airport not later than 12 noon, preferably around 11:30am. [There are lots of places to eat after you go through security including Jimmy Buffet's and Carl's Jr!!] So you're driver's going to have to take you through Panama City to get to the airport, so ask him to give you a little tour around Panama City en route. At least you'll see something. Fortunately in the morning most of the traffic is coming from Panama City to Colon, but traffic in Panama City with all the construction is horrendous.

Regards, Richard
