BusyBlond Posted March 6, 2013 #26 Share Posted March 6, 2013 Whew! When I saw on RCCL's website that you aren't allowed to bring soda onboard I began to worry. My Dad has to have his Mt Dew every day. I'm afraid if he couldn't bring it, he would stage a revolt and cancel our upcoming cruise on the Serenade. LOL Since it seems like it isn't an issue for the most part, guess we'll give it a try. What's he gonna do once he's already onboard?? Jump off and swim to shore? LOL

Candleonwater Posted March 6, 2013 #28 Share Posted March 6, 2013 For those of you that "slap a luggage tag on a case of water"... do you do anything to reinforce the original packaging?
ahecht Posted March 6, 2013 #29 Share Posted March 6, 2013 I used several layers of packing tape around the middle to make a handle, but that's it. I didn't want any tape near the ends of the case because I didn't want it to look like it had been opened and the taped shut.
HaraldOslo Posted March 6, 2013 #30 Share Posted March 6, 2013 I recently was on the Allure and we had bought 12xMinute maid, 12xSprite and 12xCoke. Unfortunately my girlfriend had opened the boxes and put them in our hotel fridge to keep some of them cold. NOOOOOOO! I cried, thinking that they would never pass if I didn't have them in the original cardboard box. But anyway, I put them back in, taped the ends with black duct tape, taped the 3 12-packs together and put them in a cheap beach bag we picked up in Miami, and fastened a regular luggage tag on it. It showed up outside our stateroom with the rest of the luggage at 13:00. I don't know if they opened the bag to look inside, but if they did they didn't care that the box had been opened. So yes, had I been a beer drinker I could have filled them with beer. But I am not and did not, just regular soda to have something cold in the stateroom. Oh, and I had a soda package as well, so I made extensive use of the freestyle machines or asked the staff to fill up my cup with some icecubes and sprite. clcurry Posted May 12, 2013 #31 Share Posted May 12, 2013 Anyone have any experiences bringing soda/water aboard recently? Specifically for Port Canaveral and/or on the Freedom?
internetwhiz Posted May 12, 2013 #32 Share Posted May 12, 2013 We take bottled water and coke and sprite Zero with us all the time. Yes on freedom and most recently last month on Allure. We also take two 2-liters for the room. We take a bag with us when we fly inside our luggage and pack it up in the spare bag with our beach towels around it. We Have never had a problem. supergran Posted May 12, 2013 #33 Share Posted May 12, 2013 Just returned from a cruise on Adventure. Took a six pack of diet Pepsi on board at two of the ports. Nobody said I ouldn't and I would argue that I like Pepsi not coke.

UNV-IT!!! Posted May 12, 2013 #35 Share Posted May 12, 2013 I always bring the small size suit case and fill that with my water, soda, Gatorade and snacks. I put a luggage tag and always check it in. It's always made it fine.
