MV EXPLORER - Any comments would be appreciated

We are considering taking a 52 day "Enrichment Voyage" on the MV Explorer next April. Although we've sailed on many cruises in the past (Royal Viking Line, Holland America, Orient Lines, Cunard, Voyages of Discovery, Home Line), we've never been on one onboard the MV Explorer.

While we understand the educational nature of this lines product (lectures by leading academics, scientists, authors & artists) we'd like to hear any comments that you have concerning the ships staff, the onboard entertainment, and whether you enjoyed the dining experience. Most importantly, would you sail on the Explorer again?

Thank you for any infomation that you can provide us with!

I've only been on the ship during a regular semester voyage, and the meals are basically college cafeteria food. On the special voyages, I believe the wait staff serves the evening meal, but the other meals are self-service.

I've never been on the ship when there was traditional onboard entertainment. The parties are fun. However, the intellectual aspects of the voyage are head and shoulders above any other "line" I've been on.

I have been on the ship during a summer school voyage, and one of the around-the-world voyages, and yes, I would go back in a minute.

Thank you for your comments regarding the MV. Explorer.

"Voyages of Discovery" and "Orient Lines" had an excellent lecture series, so your observation regarding the intellectual aspects of the "Explorer" is most helpful.

Since the ships "Semester Voyages" and "Enrichment Voyages" focus on two different groups (students vs. "lifetime learners"), does anyone who has been on an "Enrichment Voyage" have any comments to add?

The "Institute for Shipboard Education and Semester At Sea" website does little to address the entertainment or dining aspects of their "Enrichment Voyages".
