Holidays at sea

Hey all...

Hubby and I and another couple just booked our cruise for November 2006 on the brand new Carnival Liberty. What I realized was that we will be on the ship for Thanksgiving. Has anyone been on a cruise for a holiday and if so please share your stories. Also, we chose cabin #9205 and #9206, category 11 suites. They are on the front of the ship and are corner cabins. It appears that they might be a little larger than the same room midship. Has anyone had this type of cabin and is it safe to say they are bigger???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was on the "Conquest" 10/31/04. Holloween decorations/a "haunted house"/costume party/more. There will be plenty of special activities for the Thanksgiving season during your cruise

We've been on two Christmas cruise (another planned this year). Expect a special dinner on Thanksgiving. Each Christmas cruise, they had the traditional Christmas dinners. There was also a special Christmas show in the lounges.

I cruised Thanksgiving in 2002 and wouldn't do it again. The ship was packed to capacity (roll-aways at full use), kids everywhere crank calling rooms, lots of drunk people that never should have had kids. ;) But that was a Mexico cruise on an older ship out of Los Angeles. I hope your Liberty cruise goes much better.

So far I've found the deck plans are right on for Carnival. If it looks bigger it is.

We did a Thanksgiving cruise in 2002 on the Star Princess with 11 family members. They served a great traditional thanksgiving dinner. It was a wonderful week. And nobody had to cook or clean-up!!!

We recently booked the Miracle for Thanksgiving '06, and I had the same question. From what I've heard, most ships are already decorated for Christmas, which should make for some great photo ops. I was also concerned that the ship would be entirely too crowded, but then someone reminded me that most ships are sailing completely full these days anyway.

In all, I heard 99% positive things. Have fun!
