gazzer159 Posted November 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2012 Is it easy to hire snorkels at most beaches or do you have to take your own?
MAGNUM PI Posted November 28, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2012 I have taken 5 southern caribbean cruises; snorkeled at about 10 islands. I strongly recommend BUYING your own equipment, before your cruise. Snorkel equipment is available for rental, at many locations. However, the quality, selection, and sanitizing of the equipment is often suspect, IMO. This same holds true, when taking some snorkeling excursions-when they provide the equipment. Often times, the operators did not have fins to fit me,etc. Well worn masks that leaked. You will be further ahead, to purchase your own equipment. I received my shipment of new equipment today. I am going on a 14 day cruise; with 8 ports. When I arrive there, to snorkel from a beach, I am set to go! No wasting of time, finding equipment.
