How far from port are Hollywood Beach hotels vs. FLL beach hotels?

Looking to book a hotel on a beach and wonder how far each beach is from the port. Which is closer? Any suggestions on a hotel to stay at either beach.

The port in FLL is very close to several hotels. Hollywood beach is about 6-8. I didn't stay in any hotels in Hollywood, but they looked pretty run down to me. More of the type for residential/monthly for folks who really couldn't afford more.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Hollywood beach offers many fine family owned and operated beachfront hotels. Unlike the majority Ft Lauderdale hotels, most Hollywood Beach hotels are directly on the beach. Hollywood Beach and Ft Lauderdale Beach are almost equal in distance to the port.
