ardnassac79 Posted December 5, 2012 #76 Share Posted December 5, 2012 Was this a one time thing or do they do this on every sailing?? I have never heard of Carnival allowing you to buy booze and take it to the room? We will be on her for our 10yr anniversary cruise Feb2-10 with a big group and are looking forward to the trip. Great review, keep it coming. Oh yeah what technique did you guys use to get your "extra" booze on? This was almost certainly a special one time thing for the 2-day to Nassau. With it being a 2-day that included a stop, I have a feeling Carnival allowed it to try to drum up business for the shops. Of course we didn't offer up info that we were staying on board for the 8-day as well. Shambooze (check amazon) and large white mouthwash bottles. LOVE LOVE LOVE your reviews!!!! Can't wait to share this one with my sis who is sailing on the Breeze with us next September!!! Took some convincing to steer her away from DCL and to sail Carnival with us ;) Looking forward to the rest!!! :D Thank you!! Hopefully we can convince her she made a good choice ;)
Anung Un Rama Posted December 5, 2012 Author #77 Share Posted December 5, 2012 This just in: Your fiance is hot. That is all. :D Giggity giggity goo :D Was this a one time thing or do they do this on every sailing?? I have never heard of Carnival allowing you to buy booze and take it to the room? We will be on her for our 10yr anniversary cruise Feb2-10 with a big group and are looking forward to the trip. Great review, keep it coming. Oh yeah what technique did you guys use to get your "extra" booze on? This was the first time we'd ever heard of being able to take booze back to the room the first day (even just a 2 day). I would not count on it for any other cruise. As far as getting our 'extra' booze on, Shambooze and a white mouth wash bottle :D

Steve8 Posted December 5, 2012 #80 Share Posted December 5, 2012 Hey Chris & Cass welcome back. Cindy & I were thinking about you. Sounds like the back to back was awesome which you knew it would be. Hopefully our short Pride trip held you over to this one. So did you put that Craps refresher course we had to good use? Steve

Steve Hey Steve! We actually never made it to the craps table. I tried to get in once with our friend Erman but it was packed. They only had one table on this ship and it was either empty or full. Ron Pass helped keep us out of the casino most nights but we still managed to give our donations :o

Anung Un Rama Posted December 5, 2012 Author #85 Share Posted December 5, 2012 OK, sorry everyone. Work was......not fun today. I did get a lot typed up at lunch so hopefully I can get through all of Friday tonight. Friday – Nassau (Birthday Girl) : So my sweet baby girl was so excited the Wednesday before we cruised that she thought it’d be a good idea to run (on our treadmill) more than she ever has before. Her foot on the other hand was not as enthused and started bothering her Thursday evening and was really painful by the time she woke up Friday. We hadn’t planned on getting off the ship but she wanted to check out the Pharmacy to see if she could find a wrap or something to help her foot. This was docked across from us when we arrived  We slept in til about 9 and took our time getting ready. Made it up to Lido for breakfast around 9:30. yeah right. The lines were ridiculously long! It was about a 10-12 minute wait for standard buffet breakfast. We headed to Blue Iguana and that line was about 15 minutes for a much better breakfast. It was our first time having breakfast there and it was much better than I expected. Deb and Erman came over and we got to have breakfast with them. We got off the ship and walked around Nassau for a bit since we didn’t get to our last trip. Cass’ foot was really bothering her so we found the Pharmacy and headed back to the ship. Atlantis - pricey but awesome
Anung Un Rama Posted December 5, 2012 Author #86 Share Posted December 5, 2012 The ship was pretty quiet at this point so I decided to walk around deck 5 and get some pictures. The lobby from 5 (I love this picture) Casino (loved the black and red decor) The Casino Bar - one of my biggest complaints about this ship is that there is NO sports bar. The casino bar was always packed because it was the only place to watch sports.

Anung Un Rama Posted December 5, 2012 Author #89 Share Posted December 5, 2012 Back inside, part of the Ocean Plaza Fun Hub where you could check news/sports scores and also ship information and weather for free. If you had the internet package I think you could use these computers for that as well. Plaza Cafe (coffee shop) The Taste Bar (there was a Continental Breakfast served here every morning that not many people knew about. There was also a sald bar at lunch where they had chicken and a lot of different dressings and would mix it for you. Most evenings there were free appetizers from a particular onboard restaurant) Bonsai Sushi (we never ate there but heard great things about it)
ardnassac79 Posted December 5, 2012 #90 Share Posted December 5, 2012 Just a few more pics of the Sushi - I tried to get an up close shot of the menu with pricing. I know they let you get it "to go" as well - same with the Red Frog pub food - which is nice if you're winding down your night and want to enjoy some late night snacks in your cabin. Also, I know Chris mentioned it, but I loved the Salad bar at lunch. They had different soups every day, and the fact that there was cold chicken (which has always been a complaint of mine at the Lido salad buffet) along with at least 20 other salad ingredients was excellent. Plus them mixing it with the dressing for you was awesome. Free helps too ;)
Anung Un Rama Posted December 5, 2012 Author #91 Share Posted December 5, 2012 Cass stopping for a quickie (picture that is) at the Red Frog Pub wearing her Birthday Tiara. Liquid Night Club (the closest I'd get to it all cruise) And our favorite hang out, Piano Bar 88 Ron Pass boning up on his Bon Jovi lyrics (you'll get that later)
Anung Un Rama Posted December 5, 2012 Author #92 Share Posted December 5, 2012 The Limelight Lounge (comedy club). We did not see a single comedian for the 10 days. With about 3700 passengers, this little lounge would fill up about 30 minutes before each show. It just wasn't worth it to us. Anung Un Rama Posted December 5, 2012 Author #93 Share Posted December 5, 2012 We were supposed to meet up at noon to do the ropes course but with Cass’ foot bothering her we decided to try the first couple trivias (all trivias were held in the Ocean Plaza on deck 5) to see if we could get our ship on a stick. We lost out on the first one but amazingly Cass won the 2nd (I helped with the last answer as it was a baseball question). I hate that this picture didn't come out because it was so cute. Birthday girl with her prize Woot, so nice to get that out of the way. From there we went up to 10 to get some pictures of the aft bar and food areas. Anung Un Rama Posted December 5, 2012 Author #95 Share Posted December 5, 2012 We laid out for a little and then got tacos from the Blue Iguana Cantina. I only had them once on the Liberty and made a vow to have them more on this cruise. We popped in for another trivia but no luck! We searched the upper decks for more pictures and found the coin. I won’t tell you where it is though, you have to find it on your own. The Sensation came in next to us later in the morning

Anung Un Rama Posted December 6, 2012 Author #100 Share Posted December 6, 2012 Headed back to the room to make a drink for sail away. We had ice but no glasses so I went to the nearest bar to get some pint glasses. As soon as I open the door who do I see walking down our corridor texting on his Blackberry, but John Heald! I said hi and we talked for a couple minutes. He asked how Cass’ birthday was going. I couldn’t believe he not only remembered her name but also that it was her birthday (must be nice to be an attractive female). It was great to have a quiet conversation with him where he didn’t have to be ‘on’ for a crowd. (There was a CD conference on this 2 Day so about 20-25 CD’s were also here).I went up to the casino and Alex (Piano Bar bartender) was there and he gave me a couple of glasses so we could make drinks. Sail away was quiet up on deck 11 and we were able to get some pretty good pictures.
