Faster to the Fun?

People are just crotchety about this because they don't want to pay the money and don't feel anyone else should either. There are plenty of good reasons to pay the 50 bucks for it. And it sounds like it's a good value for certain situations. We are on two cruises in January and purchased it for the priority embarkation, debarkation, and priority tenders.

as we need to get off the ship fast get into a rental car drive up to port Canaveral to make our other cruise. I for one am so glad this option was available to us, it makes it much easier to guarantee we get there on time. as we aren't in a rush to get on or off the second cruise we didn't worry about it for that one.

Ignore the haters, do what makes sense for your cruise and above all Have a fantastic time ! :)

How dare you go on 2 cruises!!!! Now I want to bash you HA HA

YOUR SO LUCKY!:D Have fun (like you could not)

People should know that "life" isn't fair and in most instances people with "money" just get more perks than people on a limited budget...but people with "money" have the right to argue that they may work harder to have more disposable income, or haven't had as many kids, or were just darn lucky in the inheritance sweepstakes, etc.

If life were "fair" we would all be sailing on our own private yachts with lots of servants and being fed champagne and grapes by a beautiful he or she, as the case may be.

Doesn't bother me a lick that someone gets something "extra" because they can afford it and it never bothers me until someone chooses to flaunt it and think they are better or more deserving....and that is a person to person interaction and has nothing to do with the process.

As long as FTTF is limited to those entitled to it (cabin mates) and isn't abused by the purchaser thinking they can cover all their traveling companions like some do with platinum and diamond perks then its all OK with me.

Exactly. The company gets rewarded with the "purchase", and line breaking is allowed, at others expense. Attaching a "fun" or "purchase" to it does not change what it is: LINEBREAKING.

Do you somehow feel entitled or exempt because you have a sleepy 11 month old? I raised three kids, and never, ever thought I was entitled to anything extra because of it. If my kids "needed a nap" they fell asleep on my shoulder. I didn't break in line anywhere.

Wow someone got their Wheaties pissed in

I will be using it in Jan on the Destiny because I can and I want to and feel entitled as well. ;) Can't wait to take part in the "Linebreaking" lol :D

I like that "because I can" ... and that's how I feel.

The people who are complaining are those with the VIP status (they don't need to purchase the FTTF, they already have it) - these people "earned" it with their ten plus cruises. Unfortunately, a majority of these people (and I said majority not all) took three and four day cruises (if the days were added up, they took a total of 30-40 days of cruising). That's swell for folks that can do stuff like that (take two or more of these 3/4 day cruises in a year). I know that our family couldn't do that (husband had to put in for his vacation ... if we were vacationing in 2011, he had to put in for it October of 2010, plus our kids are in school - schools really frown upon you pulling your kids out during the school year during non break times, then we'd have to travel from Ohio to wherever to cruise - and who wants to go on a three day cruise on the east coast in winter ... certainly not me - if I am vacationing in winter, it is to get away from the cold, not see how much colder it is somewhere else. So it's not worth traveling all the way to Florida to go on a cruise for a few days just to come home - and like I said, it just wasn't possible for us to go on a spur three day cruise with his job).

We've gone on three cruises (22 days) with our fourth coming up in June (will give us 30 days). So our four lengthy cruises equal ten three day cruises. So I personally feel that I am "entitled" to just as much as those who took ten very short cruises, however, that isn't how it works. Am I happy they've come out with the FTTF program? Why yes I am. Do I plan to pay for a program that puts more money in Carnivals pocket that I could get for free when I hit a certain amount of sailed days? Why I yes I do, why? Because I can (thank you Cruzin_Susan). When I have hit enough days for VIP I won't have to spend money to be able to get onto the ship and into my room early (but I will get free laundry).:p

Agreed! Or they are lucky enough to live close to a port - I live in ND and it's a huge deal to get everyone to a port for a cruise so we take 7 day cruises to make it worth it. This will be our 4th and we are very fortunate to have had that many! So purchasing the FTTF for us was just an added perk!

Yes I do feel entitled because I PURCHASED IT. I am not breaking the law or cutting in line. I paid a price for a service and I am entitled to that service. Please don't knock others for doing something that they purchase.

Its not linebreaking it is a 49.95 service you can choose to buy or not. Geesh

IT IS LINEBREAKING when you jump in front of the VIP's who EARNED that privelage. WHich is exactly what happened to me on our recent Liberty cruise. Carnival had no control over the FTTF people. When they saw the vips coming out of the lounge they jumped in front of us. Which is the exact opposite of what carnival has said will happen It is supposed to be weddings first followed by vips THEN FTTF. Not weddings, FTTF, Vips.

Did it ruin my cruise...No but it did aggravate me that people who paid for a service got on before me and all the other vips. Especially when carnival has said multiple times that this will not happen. Once onboard I never noticed the fttf people. THere was never a line at the diamond/platinum/fttf line at guest services. We had a cabana at half moon cay and we were on the first tender anyway. We did use priorioty debark and it worked perfect. All the platinum/ diamonds were off before everyone else. We had an early flight so this really helped us.

Just for the record I am complaining and most of my cruises have been 7 and 8 day cruises. Right now I have 87 days with Carnival

You are correct ... in this case it IS linebreaking and it should not have happened. This is a new program and there will be kinks that need worked out, however, Carnival will not know about this kink/problem if no one speaks up and says something about it. I do believe that VIPS should be first (whether it was earned by ten three day cruises or ten seven day cruises) - I even think/believe that VIP's should go before wedding party). And maybe that is the answer, maybe VIP should go first (and their documents should be checked to make sure no FTTF people are sneaking in with VIP), than wedding party, than the FTTF.

Just for the record I am complaining and most of my cruises have been 7 and 8 day cruises. Right now I have 87 days with Carnival

And as I said, the majority not all. I applaud you for having earned your VIP status with 7 and 8 day cruises - you have truly earned your VIP status.

Then your issue should be addressed to Carnival for letting that happen. All I am saying is I bought a service and when I get to the ship I will go to the lines I am instructed to . No linecutting involved. Carnival needs to get better trained when they roll out new things.

I chose Carnival every cruise to get to Platinum for VIP! I would have paid if it was available before. I used it at at Guest Services and a lady started screaming at me. I never say anything but this time I spoke up! I earned it and I love it! Guess you should cruise more or pay extra! If you don't like it stay in line and don't be a hater!

This seems similar to the airline industry. If you pay for a Business Class ticket, you have some perks, such as being allowed first on the plane.

And that they do!! When we were being escorted out of the vip lounge on our recent Liberty cruise. The fttf people saw us and just got in line with us. The announcement said only vips but I saw many people who I knew from our roll call that were NOT vip but who purchased fttf in line in front of the vips

Yes they are breaking the line. If you want to get on the ship first purchase a suite or sail until your plat.

This infuriates me. I purchase a suite because of a slight handicap that

I have. I need to be able to get on the ship slowly and without loads and loads of people. I don't ask for any special assistance but why should I pay all the extra for a suite and have people jump in that line.

Carnival set it up that FTTF boards next. So how does your $ 50.00 pay

for you pushing in then. FTTF would be next.

Think of how much money you could save if you skipped the suite and got the FTTF?

A "pet peeve"...."I earned it!" said in total sincerity with a whole list of cruises following their names.

NOPE...you bought it, same as those buying FTTF. Being able to pay the price for multiple cruises on the same line doesn't earn anyone rights. You may be "given" perks for your loyalty but you bought that right with your hard earned cash the same way as those do who buy the latest gimicky program.

Besides, its not like Carnival is selling FTTF in an unlimited supply on the ship...they are restricting the supply to a handful...probably far less than those with other types of priority boarding.

I, personally, don't understand the importance of being at the front of a line...I gave up that craving sometime in elementary school. But, if its important to others and makes their vacations more enjoyable good for them and I am glad they have the opportunity to pay for it on a one time basis...cause I really don't understand doing the same "vacation" over and over again to pay for that perk.

I thought the same thing! How exactly did you "earn" the right? You haven't worked for the cruise line industry or done a noble deed to get it have you? I am boarding in a few days and haven't bought FTTF but I can't wait to watch everyone get on the boat in front of me and guess all the wonderful ways they "earned" that right.

More haters....

We choose to vacation 6 or 8 night cruises 2-4 times a year. When we vacation, we like to get on board without lines. I could choose other cruise lines but I like being loyal to Carnival. I am loyal and I have met the requirements of the loyalty program! When I am on vacation, I want to have fun and enjoy every minute of it. I have stayed in Junior Suites to interior cabins and lately Aft Balconies. There is nothing wrong with listing our cruises. If I was writing a list, it would be much longer than this.

It is quite funny how people must tear down others to feel good or knock them because of their vacations or how they spend their money. I am looking forward to my cruises in March and July on the Breeze. I hope that anyone cruising soon will have a great vacation!

No one is denying that you have met the requirements for the perks for the loyalty program...the issue is that some peeps who have sailed this often with Carnival are "upset" that someone "buying" the perks is entitled to the same thing....and some of us are just pointing out that those who are perked with priority boarding have also "paid" for that perk just over a longer time period. No difference at all, as far as I am concerned, so why are long time cruisers "upset" like some on this thread have vocalized.

I'm not a hater...none of this is personal, though some tend to take it that way.

Glad to hear....because most posters do not realize how they may come across. I love to cruise and I have easy access to ports. If I choose the same ports, I usually rent a car and never see the same thing twice. If I could be on a cruise right now I would. LOL

Just purchased this FTTF and I'm hoping it will work out.

I'm traveling with my wife and 3 daughters. They travel failry light but still not like a male.

My biggest concern was the time between boarding the ship and getting in our room. I was going to be nothing more than a 2 legged pack mule & ATM machine.

At least now I've alleviated part of the concern.:)

My wife and I have just booked FTTF for our January 13th sailing. I can't wait to get on the ship and into my cabin. I don't drink, am bored with tourist trinkets, couldn't imagine getting a spa treatment and usually win at poker. That being said, I have to give Carnival a little extra money and this seemed like a great way to do it.
