flight and cruise payment question

My cruise is more that 6 months out and I will be utilizing their air option. Delta Airlines won't let me upgrade until the tickets are paid for. That's ok since I would have had to pay for them if I was doing it directly with Delta. Now it seems it's been a mistake since O won't release the tickets till the whole cruise is paid for. Don't want the good seats to disappear, but don't want to lay out the full $.

Anyway to work this?

I just read a press release (via Hondorner, here on Cruise Critic) which indicated that Delta would be allowing upgrades to Economy Comfort in this type of situation.

Check with the Airline again. ;)

Thanks, I had read Hondomers post but got a no from Delta just today. Perhaps I'll try again since we've all found that you may get different results from different agents.
